2 for me in the Laisserfaire stakes.
Sommerlied 7/1 - really top filly and barring her mishap in the Cape, she has a perfect record. Her last two victories have come over the males too. If fit enough, 7/1 is cracking value.
Casual Diamond 7/1 - been a real money maker since cracking her maiden win and continues to go from strength to strength. Big task taking on older fillies but I think she's good enough to be involved in the finish.
Im a big Live Life fan and she's deadly at Kenilworth but she's best over 1200m and im thinking this run may bring her on. Of the others, I think Scandola could be worth a bet @ 18/1, nice run behind TSIO.

Trying to be successful early in the day :-
R1, Refined Bachelor (9/2), think he was beaten by the draw last time (10/14), was fairly handy until late in the piece. From stall gate 3, if adopting the similar tactics, he could go on and win this.
R2, O'Keeffe (3/1), was a touch unlucky last time against stronger. Should be competitive off 50.5kgs, albeit carrying 2.0kgs more than her last outing.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Maybe just have a prep run and on the short side, distance wise. Look to see what is running in Joburg on Saturday, maybe booked to ride there.
According to Striker's article in the Citizen, he is Edicts jock for this season (for now).

Race 1: Counting Stars has not lived up to his breeding, and although he does have a chance, has to take on a bunch of improving 3yos. Run Red good debut and that formline is holding up, but I don't see value at the current 11/10- he is however the one to beat. Meraki and Cradleofgratitude have solid form and will be involved in the finish. Refined Bachelor has similar ability.
Race 2: the value here is Baroness Mary - very well in at the weights and it will be very tough for Meryl to give her 7kg. Very open race. Okeeffe only just failed last time and a repeat of that run brings her into the picture.
Race 3: Princess Vicky had two wide draws at Durbanville and with a good draw today and the expected improvement has a good winning chance.Bid Before Sunset is the main danger, but it's not a two horse race. Believethisbeauty has been knocking on the door, and Little Miss Me has had two good runs and also gets a much improved draw. My other filly, Bikini Model should be included in quartets- she cracks a draw after good runs from wide draws. She will be running on strongly.
Race 4: A very tricky handicap. Romantic Crusade won a nice race last time, and the one she beat has come out to win. Unfortunately a very wide draw, but she has an ew chance. Ostinato also comes off a much deserved maiden win and is again in with a shout. Go wide in exotics.
Race 5: Captain America is the right one at the weights if not needing it too much. Sail South won't be far off him. Table Bay is a bit out at the weights with these two but is racing fit and this is his optimum trip, so must include in all bets.
Race 6: An open handicap- my first choice is Percival
Race 7: A nightmare with the fitness of some of the top fillies in question. Anime ran well last time and is nicely weighted and is my ew pick.
Race 8: Another tricky race. Arabian Dynasty appeals at the weights, although not the most reliable.

Not touching sides in Cape Town today trying to beat the favourites thus far. Now or never, Little Miss Me - go Domeyer
