For all the crap we give Greg Cheyne that was a really good ride.Van Niekerk also used his kop a bit to try and get closer from the back off a slow gallop.Only making his move when the horse was last some 15 lengths off the leader probably cost Masters's Eye in the last 50m,as he must have been tired,but it looked like Cheyne was very confident and had him covered.

Pace was the issue, done well under the circumstances, but lost on the race, that's how the cookie crumbles
