Steinhoff/Phumelela marriage continues

You would have thought that Phumelela would distance itself as far away from disgraced Markus Jooste and his history as what they could wouldn't you? Anyone who thinks that our sport is not captured just needs to follow those dots we continue showing you. So Jooste resigns from the Phumelela board and wouldn't you know it, a Steinhoff-linked replacement fits neatly in.

Appointment of Non-Executive Director

In compliance with Section 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, the
Phumelela Board of Directors (“the Board”) is pleased to announce that Mr Steve
Muller has been appointed to the Board as a non-executive director and member of
the audit committee with immediate effect.

The Board welcomes Mr Muller and looks forward to his valuable contribution.

Johannesburg
24 January 2018

Sponsor and Investment Bank
Investec Bank Limited

So who the hell is Steve Muller I hear you asking. Taken from KAP holdings Directorate:

Steve Müller (56)
BAcc (Hons), CA(SA), Sanlam EDP
Independent non-executive director
Chairman of the human resources and remuneration committee
Member of the audit and risk committee, nomination committee and the social and ethics committee
Steve joined Genbel Investments in 1995. Over the following 13 years he held various positions within that group. He has been appointed as a non-executive director on the boards of several companies. Steve was appointed as an independent non-executive director of KAP Industrial Holdings Limited in 2012. Steve serves as chairman of the human resources and remuneration committee and is a member of the nomination committee, the audit and risk committee and the social and ethics committee.

Still don't get the link? Other directors of KAP holdings:

You may recognise this guy

Chris van Niekerk (70)
BA
Independent non-executive director
Chris was a manager with the Sentrachem group before being appointed to the board of PG Bison as chief executive officer in May 1998. Chris led the management buy-out of PGSI, which transformed PG Bison. Chris holds several directorships, including Investec Equity Partners, Synchem and Phumelela Gaming and Leisure Limited. Chris was appointed as a non-executive director of KAP Industrial Holdings Limited in 2012 and was classified as an independent non-executive director in 2015.

Or this guy..... On the racing trust

Danie van der Merwe (59)
BCom, LLB
Non-executive director
Member of the human resources and remuneration committee
and the nomination committee
Danie is currently group chief operating officer for Steinhoff International Holdings N.V. He was appointed as a director of Steinhoff International Holdings in 1999, and serves on the boards of Steinhoff Asia Pacific Limited and Steinhoff UK Holdings Limited. Danie was appointed as a non-executive director of KAP Industrial Holdings Limited in 2005 and serves on the human resources and remuneration and the nomination committees.

The directorship of KAP is littered by Steinhoff current and old boys. I wonder why this dude was appointed????

I agree but not so sure - What has come out of this is the very important note that the PIC (and others )has been exposed . They had no director on the board protecting their assets , so someone there is in trouble and the only way for them to make it right is to show that they are doing something about it.

Remember Steinhoff appears before the Finance Committee and Scopa next week.

I think things are only starting .

....what I did not know is that he is an ex-Sentrachem boyjie......for those that dont know is that Sentrachem Group was once a haven of the Broederbond being a past para-statal in the days of National party rule.....it was also a major conduit for moving vast amounts of local capital overseas mainly to Germany.....

.....KAP not only has some of the current and ex-Steinhoff senior staff running the company.... but KAP is one of the major suppliers of materials for Steinoff manufacturing entities
....they supply the wood, wood composites, metal springs, foam stuffing, bed frames and fabric materials....one KAP company even supplies another KAP company the chemicals to make the wood composites....further to this KAP also supplies plastic raw materials to a plastic pipe manufacturer which is part of Mayfair Holdings where Jooste's son in law is a director....
....this structure is very similar in they way that this Cabal was trying and partly succeeded in restucturing our horse racing industry.....

No way.

It is all over but the shouting.

Don't let the door hit your backside on the way out.
