It was hype rather than form that made Mustaaqeem so short. Under the circumstances I didn't think he ran too badly after 40 weeks off and against some strong, race-fit rivals.

7 years 4 months agoI'm here Pirates.I'm sure even you would think that was a bit disappointing for most punters. You really don't want to see a 3-10 shot not even run a place.Had the form and the ratings but probably needed the run.pirates wrote: WHERES DURBS FOR HIS USUAL MOAN

I know that Mustaqeeum probably needed the run. But one has say that was a shocking ride, This wasn't the strongest field....and more so running out of PA could of not been a possibility given this horses hype.
If I like at all of the De Kock first time maiden winners, after the first 2 wins almost nine of the them have fired after that. Mustaqeeum is just on of them, all of the 3 year olds have flattered to deceive of win a big one in the Cape on the last 2 months. Yes many places were run.
Still a champ trainer, world class..just wonder if a virus or something amiss with horses or is a just the luck of the game.

I think Momo is alive here -I'm going e/w and float exacta and perhaps a % quartet Dbl float with Open Road(also a few sw) and field
