Some wonderful performances again on day 2 and sad news regards Ruby
The punters have hit the front and this is the day i was not that confident but the ones the bookies will be taking on are Un de Sceaux and Laurina
I have a decent bet running on Might Bite for the Gold Cup on Friday to end what should be a memorable and profitable festival
Good punting

1st 2 races, the Novices Hurdle, I have gone with Samcro (how original, you quip?). But this may be the real deal, his 3 hurdle wins have just been so impressive, it is quite exciting. Next destination for the exacta.
RSA Steeple Chase, and that will be a race to talk about. Presenting Percy is just oozing class and will be my pick. He won the Pertemps final last year, has been in form and goes on any ground. Tactically versatile too. Well worth my backing. Make no mistake, Monalee is a solid horse, was 2nd in the Albert Battlet Novices Hurdle last year, and has form if we consider his decent win in the Flofgas novices chase.
In the Champion chase, late scare or not, Altior will serve it to Douvan, Min or whatever is thrown at him. After that, I want the conversation to be steered towards whether he is one of the greatest ever 2 milers....put his flag next to Sprinter Sacre.
if my singles flop, I will be digging my way out in the nightmare that is the cross country chase...hint, I hope I have blessed wings! cheers
I couldn't have had it easier yesterday! But what a perfomance from Altior, huh? With ground against him, late scare to answer, seemingly in trouble on the home bend, and to sprint up the hill like that? Nico was unflustered too. I know we all loved Sprinter Sacre but he couldn't win the Supreme, could he? Well Supreme, Arkle, now Champion chase, ladies and gents, one of the greatest ever 2milers, Altior.
Presenting percy was a class apart. Here is hoping for another good day, and get well soon Ruby!

Today's card is tricky, the opener, a novices chase has a rather open look to it, but if you forced my hand, I would go with Invitation Only (4)
R2, the Pertemps final, won by Presenting Percy last year has that competitive look to it. But I like the Irish raider Glenloe, whose 3rd in the qualifier at Leopardstown was impressive. He is a proven stayer and 3miles is right up his alley, has to be the most progressive of the lot, and will relish the cut in the ground...Hoping Barry geraghty will steer this home at 7/1.
R3 rynair chase, nothing would please me more than to see Cue Card, at 12 years, a veteran who has won hearts year after year, win this. He looks in good order too. But the form of last year's winner Un De Sceaux is scarily good and he'll take a power of beating.
R4 is a nightmare, the stayers hurdle. But I'm giving Yanworth another chance. he has been doing it over fences this term but didn't we see Beauve D'air come from fences to win the biggest of the hurdle races last year? yanworth is a proven hurdler, if we excuse the poor run in that champion hurdle last year, but he came back to win the Liverpool Hurdle at aintree defeating supasundae by a neck. sam spinner is a worthy fave but sticking to my selection.
good luck
