Hi guys

I follow the threads on the forum regularly. I learn a lot from the very experienced participants in this forum.

Please excuse my ignorancw but can someone explain re the false rails and spurs. Maybe use Warrens post as an example?

Much appreciated.

Hi Kel other’s may disagree but the false rail shouldn’t come into play much today

All races up to 1600m are raced up the straight and the false rail runs from the 1200m start to finish

False Rail 2m back straight to 5m on the bend with 5m spur at 600m mark. Middle rail : 5m in from 1200m to pull up area

Break it down
False Rail 2m back straight to 5m so race around the turn ie more than 1600m , the rail is just set to go from 2 m to 5 m out - so they will come out not using the inside of the original track .

Then at the 600 m mark there is a 5 m spur - almost like an L shape so horses can then go down the inside , Sorry thats sort f how to explain it without doing a drawing.

Hi Guys,

Vaal Inside Track

Race 2: New Zealand(1) 15-20 Ran on well last time, has been backed in from 16-10 so looks the right horse. I have a good swinger take it with Regal Girl(4) 22-1. Good price for a place

Race 3: Flaming Hot(4) 14-10 Ran a cracker over 1700m and is looking for this 2400m. Was in season last run and still ran a good 2nd. Another outsider for the places/swingers/exactas is Pas De Chat(11) 14-1

Race 4: Gentleman Only(16) 20-1 Dont say i dont tip outsiders, I dont usually but this one i like and been following for awhile. Has dropped in the ratings highest merit rating was a 76 now he is a 55. THATS A MASSIVE 21 POINTS!!!!!!!! Forafewdollarsmore(1) 7-2 is the worthy favourite so swingers with my roughie should pay. Fort Augustus(5) 17-2 is a runner too, so keep an eye on him

Race 5: This is a open race. Collabro(5) 8-1, Bush Pilot(10) 15-2 and Querari Viking(6) 6-1 are my 3 I like

Race 6: Again an open race. Cape Infanta(3) 7-1 Has dropped 12 merit points and is now due for a win. Whiteout(7) 12-1 is a runner along with Hatfield Square(6) 14-1. Redberry Lane(2) 19-10 is the favourite but has had her chances and End Game(1) 6-1 has a small chance for the placings.

Race 7: Pennington Sands(4) 9-1 Has run to stronger and has dropped a few points, so worth a flutter. Forest Express(8) 3-1 and Cold Cash(3) 13-1 are next best

Race 8: Raydaveric(10) 8-1 THIS IS MY BEST BET OF THE DAY. He was 2.50 lengths behind the favourite Shenanigans(7) 12-10. He is 1.5kgs better off and is back to his favourite distance, i think last run 2000m was too far. 1700m is up his alley BIG BIG RUNNER. Shogun(12) 15-2 and Silver Peg(8) 13-1 are good for places

Race 9: Modjadji(8) 10-1 I like this horse today, kimberley horse but is speedy and if the track is running fast, Penetrometer is 25 so not too bad. I predict he will go to the front and will stay there all the way. Lady Of The World(3) 11-2 has a chance, has dropped in the ratings. Favourite Mademoiselle(7) 7-2 ran in a shocking field so dont rate her at this stage. I just think others are stronger here. Madam Secretary(5) 14-1 has a chance with Zackey up so again all the above for swingers/exactas/places.

1,4 x 1,16,4,5,11 x 1,2,5,6,10 x 1,2,3,6,7,17 x 1,2,3,4,8 x 10 x 3,5,6,8 (10%) R600

GOOD RACING

Bob, Warren

Thanks for response. Have an understanding now. The difference between the false rail and spur was bit confusing but its probably about the shape and the position it seems.

Thanks again.
