No it would not be better Fingers ! Any form of cheating should not be condoned. However he as captain has openly admitted discussing this with other members of his team including other leaders and then agreeing to go out onto the field and carry out this action of altering the condition of the ball. As a leader and man of integrity (his words) he should have stopped the discussion Immediately and SAID no way do you go ahead with this. The Australians talk of the line that one shouldn't cross all the time. They are a sorry bunch and of story.

Sad day for Australian cricket and they must accept the consequences for the premeditation, every one who was party to this cheating from management through to the players. If Smith agreed to this, he should be the first to step down and be banned from further international participation, with the other cheats.

Bancroft, relatively new to international cricket, with so many cameras around in any sport these days, why jeopardize your future, the tag will follow him and others around forever - stupid.

If this happened in Australia it would be sensationalized and headlines everywhere. Here in SA we should do the same thing.....ok it is on TV and not sure if it's headlines here but I'm 1000% sure it would be way worse if it happened in Oz.

I don't believe Cricket Australia will try and cover this up, bear in mind there is a time difference between the two countries and the news would have filtered back there roughly at midnight. You have a Country's sporting reputation at stake here, unless dealt with severely, as the player has admitted to the charge, there can only be one way forward - get rid of ALL those party to this.

Smith is under increasing pressure to quit as captain, however he stated after play on day three that he still feels he’s the best person to lead the Australian side.
