Well, not quite what I was hoping for - however He almost got taken out at the gate, and was down a good 10 lenghts before he even got into stride - lol!
And once in the groove I think he went ok.

Also, on the plus side, he didn't seem to get worked up going down - went straight into the gate, didn't run to green - and most importantly, came home safe!

So overal, and upon reflection, I'm quite pleased - there's always another race.
