Southwell

Race 1: Dapper Man(4) 5-2 Was beaten a short head last time and is off a rating of 58 on which his highest is a 60. Speed rating is a high of 72 and he only needs to reproduce his last effort to win here. He had a high 75 speed rating last year on the turf so I think he has more to offer. HE IS MY BEST BET ON THE DAY

Race 4: Pearl Spectre(3) 10-1 He is well handicapped here, he ran a cracker last run at Chelmsford City going to the front and just running out of puff the last half furlong. He is in the same class here and has in form apprentice Nicola Curry in the irons. He is a course and distance winner here too so these odds look good for a steal.

Lingfield

Race 3: Insurgence(4) 22-10 He beat a horse in Lingfield called Zalshah, which has run 15 points higher since and that gives my selection a good winning chance today. Came from off the pace last run and won going away, has same jockey Daniel Muscutt on board and will be ready to strike turning for home. I like a roughie to run into the places Bungee Jump(7) 16-1 This filly will enjoy this 1400m and again has a good speed rating of 81. She has an apprentice on to claim which will be in her favour. Have a go with swingers/exactas with my top selection.

Kempton Tonight

Race 2: Vice Marshall( 3-1 Posted a fast speed rating of 70 last start and will go in again as a big runner today. The 3rd & 4th horse on his last run have franked the form and he is taking on the same class rivals this evening. He has improved since the 6 month break, and I expect him to win again tonight.

Race 7: Bird For Life(6) 13-10 She is a 2 time winner course & distance and she has improved on her last 2 runs since being dissapointing before then. She has an excellent speed rating of 77 which is 10 higher than her closest rival. Again a horse that is taking on same class rivals this evening, I expect her to go one better. Another roughie for the swg/exa players is General Brook( 10-1 was a winner here 2 starts back, but then dissapointed last time out in a class 7. I expect better run here with Luke Morris up and should be in the places.
