R2 Pretty Penny, quietly fancied. ??
R3 Frankly, big price, good ew bet
R4 Zaahed, I took a big price, hoping...
R7 Like a Panther, connections very very confident, my best bet of the day !!

Can still get around 7.5/1 or about.

One of those days where many races look straight forward - dividends should reflect that - thoughts ...

R2: Lots of ifs and buts here imo - Silvez probably the right one - if she likes blinkers and of she can overcome the inside draw; Tia obvious ability but may need further; Pretty Penny should feature if she does not need it too much; Milesende who knows - and then the de Kock debutante - said to be 'moderate', but betting support suggests otherwise I'm including a dew in the BP

R3: Dagmar surprised when winning the Ruffian; who knows why Ghaala is not in this race so probably safest to include both Dagmar and Celtic Sea - other Tarry runner probably the only other danger

R4: Bold Eagle the obvious one; danger may be the unraced Zaahed - scratched midweek to take his place here while Royal Italian could get closer to Bold Eagle

R5: For me Mustaqeem is the most vulnerable of the hotties - seems to have his issues; main dangers Pera Palace, Down to Zero, Alwash and San Fermin

R6: Legal Eagle needs to run many lengths below his form to get beat; Unagi could make the trifecta and maybe even the exacta pay

R7: I think Majestic Mambo could restore his reputation here; main danger imo is the KZN visitor Roy Had Enough, who has a nice draw and (like MM) should find the 1800 to be right up his alley; Greek Fire had excuses last time and I think he will also improve a lot on his Guineas run; Surcharge another who with the de Kock runners obviously can't be ignored

R8: As per the betting the top 3 stand out; Silver Thursday is my first choice, from Takingthe peace; Folk Dance needs to prove she gets the trip, so Green Top could prove the main challenger to the de Kock pair; the others for me much of a muchness - imo Rockin Russian (like FD) needs to prove she gets 1800

R9: Al Danza has a lot going for her and is a worthy favorite imo; Pennington Sands looks well weighted and could be the main danger, with Sabina's Dynasty and Return to Power next best imo

Can't really get excited about the last 3 races ....

Race 12: White Rose went to Jhb as the traveling companion to Silvan Star. She has thus had plenty of time to acclimatize and was supposed to run in the meeting that was washed out a couple of weeks ago. She is not a filly that shows much in her work, and it is possible that she may need this run after the break, but I expect her to be competitive here. Make me Happy looks well in at the weights, while Paree ran above her rating in the strong Pinnacle race last time. Fish River Canyon has good form.
