My best bet today is Sigismund in the 2nd race. The rumour is that this horse is way above average. In the barrier trial it was hard held and ran Meryl to a whisker, Meryl ran with Snowdance etc..and recently ran 4 lengths off in a grade 3 with the likes of Star Express etc. The horse that ran 3rd in the barrier trial..Benfontein...is merit rated runner in the 72 and 75 range. That horse just ran on for 4th in a Mr 72 race the other day. Most horses out of the formline have placed in their next start.
Sigismund is by Dynasty and will prefer the 1200m as opposed to the 1000m trial. Draw is slightly out but is better than it's closest rival Fritwilliam who had a chance and ran second to an outsider whilst it also drifted in the betting.
This horse should shorten....watch this space.
I like the favourite in the first...but just concerned as it had a plum draw last time and was slow out the gates...if that happens at this current draw he might not catch up as the line might come to early. But again this is a horse that got going late last time and might want more ground as well. But the class of the horse may come through.
My play...straight win on Sigismund...big time...and a small double with the 1 horse in the first race Charge D Faires in the first
The drift was worrying but a good indicator of the chances of Sigismund

Sigismund
Training on the track leaves a bad taste.Surely that ride needs looking at?

#Sigismund....the world was on that horse and the rider rode it for the bookies! It was a scam and a big sabotage! Bookies and trainers work together anyway.

Although he is jumping in class he is only carry 50,5 kg's with an appy who is good value for his 4 kg claim. He has been nominated for the Daily News. If Alison feels he is good enough to take on the top 3 year old's in the Country at level weights he should be able to win this race carrying 50,5. I can't believe there is 17/10 available on him and make him a huge runner today.

Thanks Dave. Had a health ATC riding onto him and then to AFS. Got a huge price on AFS to win the July now.
Hoping PP can do it on Saturday as well.

Excellent ride after losing ground at the start.
