I was going to back Masar all week and at the last minute changed my mind and backed Dee Ex Bee! Frustrating!!!!
Even though O’Brien won the Oaks, I’d say by his standard his horses are a little off. I wouldn’t write any of his string off later in the season. I think after Ascot onwards he could clean up and have a super Goodwood, Doncaster and autumn with these horses. Follow them in about 6 weeks time again. For now, Mark Johnston, John Gosden, Rodger Varian, Charlie Hills, Charlie Appleby seem the stables to follow.
There is going to be great value at Royal Ascot.. can’t wait!

Could it be that O'Brien has quantity this year and a little short on quality.
The intersting horse for me is Dee Ex Bee.

is SAF any closer than 3, 2 or 1 year ago on presentation to the standard as Garrick witnessed? Unfortunately the July won't be screened on SABC this year, again, - but only on DSTV's Supersport section. Thus, missing reaching the greater populous of the country in favour of a few thousand subscribers.
racing's reach seems to keep to it's own limited circle.

Miles from it. Watching racing on ITV is unreal. The coverage is unrivalled. Presenters are polished, knowledgable and they know that it't not about them and how good a tipster they are. It's about racing and horses.
Typically for the big meetings they will cover everything from the horses arriving on course, how they fare in the pre-parade and saddling enclosure, parade ring, actual racing. They will have inserts on stuff they've covered in the build-up, visits to yards, back stories etc. They have ridiculous camera angles and capture the moments perfectly.
While it's great that now there's a drone covering the big SA races it's of little help when the rest of your cameras and the angles they are positioned in are tired. You could switch on an SA meeting and it's always the same, and as much as TT is a betting channel it is utterly boring.
ITV try their damnedest to keep it fresh, exciting and thrilling. 1.8 millions viewers for the Derby meeting says a lot.
