Just an observation while going through the thee card, I see Eyes wide open last ran on the 27/1/2018. Does that one not need at least a barrier trial or am I incorrect.
Our mate Art has come in from 20s to 10s is this stable money?
Last Im rowing with Crowd please again this year for History to repeat itself.
Last year it ran 2nd in the cup trial being Elusive silver who was supposed to have been one of the favs last year, this year it ran 2nd to ANS in the cup trial fav this year. good luck all.

Eyes wide open did some work at the gallops last thursday so doubt barrier trial required
Our mate art was tipped by darryl maree and neil andrews on the panel at clubtab last night as a value bet

Surely the 24 hour rule applies and he cannot ride tomorrow!

So every one and his dog have had their say - I have looked at the race again and again and still I stay with my original choice - imo African Night Sky is the best bet on the card and only bad luck in running can beat him. He has a lot going for him (mostly being at least 3 kgs 'well in' at the weights in a handicap - none of the others have that advantage). Only slight negative is the draw - imo would have been ideal at around 5,6 or 7. Even soft going will not be an issue - let's just hope the track can take the rain.
All the others have something against them - imo the 3yr olds are probably the ones to chase ANS home - Undercover Agent's win in the Gold Challenge seems to suggest that the 3 yr olds might have the edge on runners like Abashiri and Coral Fever. I can't really split Do It Again, Majestic Mambo and White River - they have beaten each other and Majestic Mambo has the added disadvantage of probably coming from far back in a race where the pace might not be a dawdle, but definitely nothing will be going at record-breaking speed. I still think that Rocket Countdown on his recent form is very lucky to be in the race - yes he did beat the others in the Selangor - but that was 7 months ago.
There also seem very little between Abashiri and Coral Fever - and at least they are not 'out at the weights' - so both (along with Elusive Silva) are top 4 contenders and at the odds CF looks a fair place bet. Gold Standard - who knows - if back to best (as per the trainer) would certainly be thereabouts.
Best outsiders imo are Secret Potion and Matador Man; SP beat Fiorella in the Fillies Classic and is 1 kg better off - and imo will also be better suited to the 2200 than Fiorella - but she is still 2 kgs out at the weights - so place chance more realistic imo. Matador Man is well weighted - against him is that he always walks out of the gate and thus (like Majestic Mambo) will have to come from far back.
I can't have the others - Tilbury Fort imo needs a longer straight; Yakeen should be held by TF; Liege on his last run needs a miracle; Star Express imo the 2200 is a big problem (but still is prefered by the Bass stable jock to Rocket Countdown); both Made to Conquer and Dark Moon Rising have something to find at the weights imo.
I put my money where my mouth is months ago - and apart from a few cover bets (Elusive Silva and Majestic Mambo) I am still happy to put my 'faith in Snaith'

I'm siding with the bottom weights in the main race: Rocket Countdown, Secret Potion and Darkmoon Rising....
