0 from 18 favorites today in the UK.
Can Ryan Moore give a little relief to favorite backers with Alhakmah?Well it's 1-3 but I'm sure most only have her in their Quickmix and jackpots.

7 years 1 week agoReally not sure.Like you said there is a certain time where results in SA are shocking for weeks on end.FaceThePace wrote:How does one explain that ? Old Ryan Moore is taking a bashing on the forums. Not for the ride on Alhakmah, but for his riding in normal meetings when he is not riding the best horses in the country. But the most hated jock in the UK definitely seems to be Jim Crowley. The most loved by far is De Sousa.

Yip you right about Murphy,Doyle and Buick, they riding really well at the moment. And remember Crowley and Hanagan where champion jockeys in the UK not that long ago. Both of them have really gone backwards.

For the last two months the UK and Ireland has experienced an exceptional heatwave by their standards without any rain at all.
This situation has now changed and thunderstorms ,floods and rain has arrived.
We have watched racing on tracks as hard as a road and small fields.
Horses that prefer softer going are now being galloped and appearing on the racecourses.
Making selections based on form, from now on is pointless and will prove expensive.
You will have more luck with the Lotto.

Just looking at favourites in the last two meeting at these courses and todays results (the "N" is for favourite unplaced). With the exception of Nottingham last meeting, both Newbury and Wolverhampton had a lot of favourite wins the last two meetings ... then we have today, no favourite wins at any of these courses. I`ve only recently started looking at favourites in the UK, I`m no expert, but it seems there are more favourites winning there than in South Africa.
Newbury - (3/N/4/N/N/2/2/3) - 0 (today)
1 - (F/F/F/N/F/3/F) - 5
2 - (N/F/F/N/F/F/4) - 4
Nottingham - (2/N/3/2/N/N/2/4) - 0 (today)
1 - (2/N/4/F/F/2/N) - 2
2 - (F/N/N/F/2/F/F) - 4
Wolverhampton - (3/2/2/2/3/2/3) - 0 (today)
1 - (F/N/F/F/N/F/F/F) - 6
2 - (N/2/F/F/F/N/2) - 3
Surely this has nothing to do with form, bloodline, jockey, etc, but is rather a "pattern" developing. I suppose the "pattern" can have something to do with competitive fields or not. If you work back another few meetings you`ll notice this. It`s as if the "pattern" gives, then takes ... or am I missing something here ?
