Beautiful day, not much wind, course will be fast. Fourie and Cheyne not riding- Hewitson has picked up Fourie's rides.
Race 1 Salt very poor last time, but gets a good rider here. At best he should fight it out. Trojan Winter has ability and should be in the shakeup. Rock Spirit two good recent runs, and is my choice as he likes this trip..
Race 2 Boomps a Daisy looks very hard to beat here. We have Hollywood Belle- she came through her comeback run well enough, and has come on from that run. It looks very open behind the favourite, and I think we can run second.
Race 3 A very open race. Despite being a maiden, I think Je Ne Sais Quoi is quite well weighted on her best form and she is fair ew value at 8/1
Race 4 Another very competitive affair. Dream baby Dream and Star of Silver look to have the most scope for improvement, and must go on the short list. I think Madonna is well in at the weights although not the stable elect and a tricky draw.
Race 5 Majestic Mozart could not get a penalty for his last two good runs, and if fit is the one to beat at the weights as he is undoubtedly better than his MR90. Vardy is a decent sort and still on the upgrade but I doubt he is 4kg better than MM. The long run in will help but 1400m may just be on the sharp side for both which could open the door for Knights Templar or Russet Air.
Race 6. We have Shall be Free running. He needed his last run after a break and was not far off the action and if this run does not come too soon after, that run will have brought him on. He is now on a fair handicap mark, and while he may need this one to bring him to his peak, he is in with an ew shout.
This is another very open race.
Race 7. Run Fox Run is certainly better than her rating, and is a banker. We have Twin Falls running- she is now off a sensible rating, is fit, and I expect her to earn a cheque here.
Race 8 Lana Belle was impressive on debut and is surely better than her MR76. She should win if showing the natural expected improvement. If she fails then its wide open.
