According to Tony T , everyone is falling over themselves when there is a free R500 on offer from Ziets for the comp , so I abstain from comps on abc going forward , enjoy guys

Wow, !! Who would have thought (except me) that an entrance fee of R200 would have most of you guys running for the hills in absolute terror.
I expect the next free competition will have huge support.
Thanks Zietz, maybe next time you should do all the work & sponsor the winners & not charge any fees at all.

Tony,Craig apologies for not entering firstly.
it's not that we running for the hills, but most of us on here are here because we love the game and not cos we have shit loads of money, most of us our budget for the meeting is around R200.
comps are fun, truly, but me for one like many others on here just can't afford to play all of them.

Some of us don't always have the time, like myself, i just woke up at 02;30, still tired and after rolling around thought better get up and see if i can get through the cards and post my selections and try to pay before the first race. i have an urgent job this morning so everything is gonna be one big rush

For some it is all about participating, not winning or losing, and who really gives a shit about R500?

No need to apologise.

Playing according to a small budget is the only way to go.

Doing it now for 25 years and will punt till I kick the bucket.

Of course you are right & I apologize for my comments. It just annoys me that some posters are so hostile to Zietz & the whole Kimberly racing experience & then whine that he doesn't post his selections anymore or dont acknowledge him when he has a really good day.

Imo ...... I think it takes a lot of work to organize and run a competition (just ask Chicken), but if one wants to be the organizer, he should be able to set the rules and the t&c's ...... if I were to organize, I'd state up front that 10% of the pool will be my 'fee' - and then if nobody wants to participate, so be it.

Participating should be a member's choice, if one accepts the rules, then join, if not, don't join - and imo it is not fair that everybody and his dog comment on members' participation.

true Frodo thats why before every comp I put in the rules then ask people to either accept them or not or add to them as everytime i do a comp i will always miss something. Once the first ball is kicked or ball is bowled then thats it, should be the same for horse comps.

I doubt if those who run the comps would want a financial reward for doing so as i know that i get my payment from the enjoyment that it brings especially when the winner is announced.
