Just to be clear - will there be 2 pools ? One for the 'normal' competition and one for the 'quartet' competition - with separate logs? And how would the R200 entry fee be split between these 2 pools ?

R2000 of quartet comp will come out of Total entry fees + 1500 sponsored . Whatever is left will be split 70 , 20 , 10 for normal comp.
So in total 4 prizes to be won.

I dont mind the extra effort for free , as long as the guys keep being interested and enjoy it and with the quartet comp i do think some/most will look at each of that races in a new way and that can only help them/us sharpening the skills as punters and puts a total new dimention on a tipping comp. Most punters gets bored doing the same thing/comp everytime and lose interest, so this might just get the negative guy back into a positive "give it a go" mindset again.
Some guys are good in finding the best 4 t0 6 horses in a race but struggles to pinpoint the best one on the day .... that guy will probably do very well in the quartet comp.

Just to use yourself Frodo as an example (and its not in a bad light , so dont take it as a negative) , you very good , i think on abc the best , to analyze race by race and give your input on all the runners with chances and you very accurate most times with the runners you mentioned filling the top positions but in a nomal comp where you only need 1 horse you seldom challenge for top honours . You must surely be the one to beat in the quartet comp in my opinion.
Just how i observed and thats why i thought about throwing in something like the quartet comp.
