Winner gets the stick out and Cheyne doesnt. that's the difference.....which then makes him look overconfident and with a lack of a better word "pap".

PS - I had wins on Pacific Rim as well and a few doubles.

I was away for the weekend.
Have just looked at the replay without having any bet.
Very disappointing ride from Cheyne, years ago that was how Vicky Minot rode.Exactly the same. But when you go for someone like Cheyne you expect better. It’s not for them to try win by a short head and save the merit rating, the horse was going on to win and started to run around like greeness and if he rode into the closing stages with stick and vigor then without a shadow of doubt race over.
This last year has become a year where everyone has become anti stick. We still have to remember this is Horseracing and forever it has been used. If no stick is to be used on a certain horse then it needs to be published. That was a pansy ride. No one can argue that.

As regards the ride itself, I have looked at it a couple of times- Cheyne has Pacific Rim in a winning position, and rides him out confidently. He has his whip in his right hand, and with 200m to go is keeping the horse balanced and the horse is going well enough not to need the stick. When Winnaar moves up to challenge, his mount hangs inwards towards Pacific Rim away from the right handed stick and although he then straightens out and does not bump Pacific Rim, the two race extremely close together the last 100m. There is clearly not enough room for Cheyne to use the stick in his right hand. He had two choices- keep punching the horse out with the hands, or pull the stick through to the left hand. The danger with the latter option is that there is then the risk of the horse shifting out away from the stick and causing interference.
Winnaar rides a great finish, and one can perhaps conclude that Cheyne rode somewhat over confidently, or perhaps should have switched the stick to the left hand, but in my opinion no reasonable review would find anything seriously amiss in his ride.
Cheyne never used the stick... he was lacklustre in the finish, all other jocks were whipping their mounts, Cheyne in my opinion could and should have won that race.
Poor ride, poor judgement, poor jockeyshipp? I will stick to my assumption of WTF was he doing?
Been racing for 40 years, believe me by this time I can see whether a jock want to win a race or not and I believe Mr Cheyne should be "ascheymed" by the rising skills he displayed' on that horse, whether is was on purpose or not.
You can fool a lot of people all the time, but not all of the people, I'm an old fool. As an forensic auditor, I watch racing without blinkers.
Please suggest what other platform I should have used to air my views? Acceptable or not, should I just shut up and take this on the chin? That was a shit ride, point!..and I will say that in the mans face.
Pity that this sport I love so much we get screwed every meeting somehow and nobody got the balls to say anything,
