Dont know who trained, who rode... But at 14 years of age, I would be put last pennies on him and win!
I remember him so well for some obscure reason. Was the early days of Jooste's ownership - horse raced in the maroon and silver of Steinhoff. Charles Laird and Jeff Lloyd teamed up on several occasions with him.
If I'm not mistaken, once he had finished up in SA, he headed over to Mauritius - won pretty much everything there
before being tried in Dubai and then returned to Mauritius for 1 or 2 more runs before retiring.

In my youth the horse which got me hooked was Gerald Boy, a top class sprinter. Trained by Johnny Nicholson & ridden by Gerald Turner. Owned by the Likorish brothers.
My other favourite horses were Turncoat & Politician.
Those were the days...

Think Charles Laird trained and Delpech used to ride...

Durban Merchants 1994, Prince of War, Midnight Run, Winnetka. Caught the trifecta and swinger for R40 and picked up R5600. Went to the Maldives and have been a victim ever since.....
