Think about it Lets Start with
Breeder -- they need at least 50 plus people to help let's say they all have a wife and 2 kids
vets Pluss feed keep on adding
Owner

a horse needs TRAINER THE TRAINER NEEDS +assistant trainer + grooms +feed + vet +farriar +training facilities ??
Then Racecourse needs staff ??
Tote-bookmakers-betting world and all other forms of betting facilities they all employ at least 4 to a few hundred staff You can go on and on
And now you have the punter all trying to make a quick buck
It's just a thought B)

Here are the most recent stats of people in racing operations - I can't see GROOMS at all but with 4800 horses grooms should be about 2600(most stables I know 1 groom looks after 2 or sometimes 3 horses - Grooms on stud farms and spelling farms way way less

www.nhra.co.za/index.php/statistics/stats-card

www.phumelela.com/operations/south-africa

Phumelela employs about 1,500 people, of whom nearly 80% are from previously disadvantaged backgrounds and enjoy significant representation in junior, middle and senior management.

Not sure how old this is BUT in no world do these 1500 people support 18570 people - Now if they are trying to say that 18 570 people each benefit financially from those 1500 that is also wrong - Every day 50 mil plus South Africans benefit financially from me when I buy something from a shop use airtime or any other transaction I complete - I buy a car the company pays tax the salesman gets paid and they buys food etc The companies that benefit from Racing are also varied and VERY VERY few survive only on Racing - The company that supplies Phumelela stationary for example sells to other people Epol sells other animal feed etc - Just give clear true facts because as LG says Racing already has a bad reputation

I’m not going to quote anyone above, however the sooner horseracing people understand that COVID 19 committee management is based on science and science alone NOT on emotional pleas it will go nowhere. They are not interested in listening to “but I might lose my job” they want scientific proof of how and where would be the safest place to start racing again.

That's why Bonski's most recent presentation is so pertinent in this situation. As the trainers clearly pointed out, the parties who would be involved in closed-door racing are the exact same people who are, and have been together in the stables and at training facilities since before the lockdown started ... with zero reported cases of infection.

That's the scientific evidence right there that the industry has done everything within its power to contain the outbreak - and at this stage has proven that it has the ability to successfully host race meetings under the exact same conditions as the ghost meetings before March 26.

The corona virus is a man made virus produced in the labs of the North Carolina University (2014). In 2015 research was ordered to be stopped. The Chinese doctor (researcher) , a woman who's name I cannot remember relocated to Wuhan and was FINANCED TO THE TUNE OF $3.7 MILLION BY DR FAUCI ....yes, that clown who is now spearheading 'the fight against Covid19' from Americas Health Funds.

There are full published research papers documenting all of this..... it IS NOT CONSPIRACY stories.

Google have started covering up the facts by removing any published You Tube videos relating to the fact, along with any interviews / statements made by whistle blowers.

I watched the following videos ...

they have subsequently been removed ...

Watch this .... it is an hour long but worth the watch.

I have my thoughts on the why etc. but will keep them to myself... otherwise I will be accused (correctly so) of having too much undiluted blood in my veins. Damn, I need a drink !!

Agree Magi. There's at play here.

Needing permits to move around.
Face mask and social distancing = no socializing.
No mass gatherings.
Snitch lines.

Life as we know it, may never be the same again.

Following the National Horseracing Authority’s previous Press Release, clarity has now been received from the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) with regard to the transportation of live animals, including horses.

Our reading of the regulations for the movement of horses (and other animals) is that any permanent movement of horses may occur under Level 4 as a once off movement for the permanent relocation or sale of any horse, and not back and forth.

As with human exercise, horses may be exercised by existing staff that are authorised as essential or permitted on the properties where horses are kept or off premises within a 5km radius of the holding of residence between the times of 06h00 to 09h00.

National Horseracing AuthorityKindly note, this allowance does not supercede the requirements of movement of horses under any other Act or disease control requirements, and specifically movement control with regards to African Horse Sickness (AHS) would still apply.

It is further understood that the South African Health Equine Protocols (SAEHP), are now authorised to issue permits into or within the AHS controlled area with regards to AHS movement control.

We have also been advised by SAEHP that they cannot issue permits for Covid-19 movement authorisation, but if the AHS conditions are met, they can issue permission for movement in that regard.

It is noted that other Provinces are closed for direct movement into the AHS controlled area and therefore movement into the AHS controlled area would require stopover quarantine.

At present the only Provinces that have limited areas open for direct movement into the AHS controlled area are the Northern Cape and Western Cape. All other Provinces are currently closed for direct movement into the AHS controlled area due to active AHS cases.

For AHS movement permits or movement requirements please contact move@myhorse.org.za.
