Absolute useless information to share how much you have won on a race after it has run............

If not “tipped” before they run............

Next time, please share this sort of information with us guys reading this before the race?

It was shared in context of the fact that the horse drifted yet well over 300k was won on him not for any other reason.

bearing in mind that if you back a 1st timer you can get R20k of it or what ever it still dumfounds me that the horse drifted like that NOT because it was punted but because it took so much out due to its price.

And i was going to ask about the comment "had this been 10 years ago, price would have beem different etc."

But i think you summed it up already.

I wish that too changes.

The short of it is that there was no big bet and according to easy the Goosen stable did give it a chance.
That's what I'm saying....a 50-1 horse wins with minimal money on it.
If the info was out there do you really think it would have started at 50-1?
So I'm not sure where easy says the info was out there for us to see.
Honestly here there are too many conflicting views.
One said it had a chance yet only 50 pounds was bet on it overseas and then he says if it was the old days then it would have started at 2-1 meaning they where very confident it was going to win but somehow no one put real money on it.
My view is that the stable missed a quality betting proposition to get back everything they paid for the horse in one race.

@Durbs, correct I/We are not afraid of firing. However my relationship with Mr Goosen is not what it was 10 years ago never mind 10 months ago.
Mr Goosen advised all owners that the horse should not run without a small bet.

Had things been differently and we had spoken 5799 times ( as before) we might have had the confidence to know more about the horse and what he been working with etc.

Its hard to convey and interpret messages via email and WhatsApp BUT I'm happy the horse won and that those that took heed of the "don't let it run without a few rands on did indeed get on"

For me persoannly it was a case of a few runners at Goodwood and a few football bets connecting into a double. Other doubles died with Battle of Stirling

After all is said and done 1 thing is for sure and I agree with the above "My view is that the stable missed a quality betting proposition to get back everything they paid for the horse in one race." that is a fair assessment and actually not only that horse but we own other horses that are soup meat so this was indeed an opportunity to win a few rands and pay for a few horses. BUT im comfortable with the silence and the peace of mind and Ill continue to communicate with Mr Goosen via WhatsApp and email when I really need to apart from that the rest is water under the bridge as they say in the classics

Don’t feel too bad easy that was only one of a good few 50-1 first timers winning in the last few weeks.
Yes we all know the saying horses make fools of us (never more so than right here in SA) but letting these type of opportunities go astray is just sad to see for the owners.Better feed back and more concentration in the mornings and this might not happen.
