Looks like three jockeys going for it:
- S'manga Khumalo
- Warren Kennedy
- Lyle Hewitson

If Richard Fourie wasn't such a big family man or avid fisherman then he would win the title by February.

Luke Ferraris is my dark horse to crack the top 5 if he does some travelling.
Richard Fourie is the greatest...

I am sure Aldo should be in the mix. Surely he has ridden a good few winners In the last 40 days.

So Hewitson gets the Tarry plums, Cheyne the Greef plums, Fourie the Snaith plums, and Marcus the KZN plums.

How is Khumalo getting all his wins?

Just grit. Is Cheyne travelling or hitting the penalty kicks in EC. I rarely follow Fairview or WC races.

Bling currently on a different planet than the other jocks, riding like a demon possessed.

I wish him all the best.......

The winner can only come from (and not in order of preference), Hewitson, Yeni and Kennedy. Reason being they are currently riding at centers that have the most meeting on average per week, e.g KZN races for the most part on Sunday, Monday and Wednesdays. Tuesday's and Thursday's these chaps are riding on the Highveld.

The Cape jockeys, if they don't travel, have no chance because they sometimes do not have midweek meetings. If push came to shove, any one of the mentioned three above will travel to PE to try and wrap up a championship, that's a given.

Gun to the head, Hewitson.

You must add Khumalo into the mix. Cheyne gets 100 wins a year in PE, so if he were to chase it by looking for rides midweek in Jhb would have a chance too.

Not saying you wrong regards Cheyne, if habouring any thoughts of winning the title, he'd better start traveling to both Joburg and KZN now, because he'd be trying to break into a centre with already established "partnerships", e.g. (Tarry/Hewitson), (Peter/Kennedy), (Dawson/Kennedy & Lerena), (De Kock/Murray). Difficult seeing the current relationships being "broken" for a out of province jockey when these guys are doing the work daily. Guess the same would apply to him in KZN. On a lighter note, he'd have to call in some huge favours.
