Certainly a champion filly - I think same class as Empress Club and Ipi Tombe - to give weight to most of the field and then just pull away - champion filly; also would like to tip my hat to the connections of the 2nd filly - not bad for a 30k buy  and to the PE visitor, who should never have gone of at 100/1

A champion filly amongst that lot that she raced with today, absolutely. Let's not kid ourselves here, she was giving weight away to that bunch for a reason, lest we liken the quality of horse Ipi Tombi and Empress Club took on to earn their reputation to a Tree Tumbo, although admittedly she's beating every horse she's encountering with ease so far. To say that the current Covid related climate regarding stakes and travelling has had an impact on the quality on offer in this race would be an understatement, and if our MR's actually meant something internationally, this race would be C grade at best, shown more so by how strung out they finished, reminiscent to some Flamingo Park races we're used to.
Impressive win today though, no doubt, and it's a pity we've lost Katak and Hawaam already for her to have any real opposition to take on, with the current stars we're used to in Do It Again and Rainbow Bridge also getting towards the end of their careers. Mount Pleasant seemed something to get excited about, alas... Would love to see her take on Anything Goes and War of Athena.

Will be interesting to see what the handicapper makes of this - as per usual, a couple of ways to go about it; either use Tree Tumbo as the line horse, which would mean that SP ran to around 130 and Running Brave to around 120, or take the view that RB and Dance Class are the line horses, which would still mean that SP ran to around 124 - guess that would be the more correct assessment - although it does mean that the rest of the top ten finishers ran around 10 pounds below their ratings

I did not think Summer Pudding could pull off the big weight and the bad draw. With exception of the Runner up the rest were in a different race.
9 from 9 not gonna happen often in SA with our crazy handicappers at the wheel.

so very well done, to most unexcited owners of a Grade 1 winner i have ever seen. to the trainer, jockey and all the grooms who where bouncing after her win.
