Let's differentiate between not seeing value in Castle Corner's short price and thinking that Castle Corner did not have the best winning chance in the race, which it did. Only the jockey would know why he sat so far back, but it is Gav after all so probably the horse just isn't too good.

Plenty on here not impressed by the way Gavin Lerena is riding at the moment.
I think Lyle Hewitson is the one who makes the least mistakes.
In the Cape definitely Marcus with Fourie often getting caught out his ground.
In KZN it's a lottery as most make more bad decisions than good.

I did not see value because he finds something to beat him repeatedly so at such a short price I could not back him to place (I had made my mind up that if he did win then so be it but P Pride at 5-10 to run in the first 2 was more value for me if Castle did win - ) I was not certain That P Pride would beat him in a dog fight as the other had more experience so could have beaten him) It went my way albeit that I did not back P P to win but if they ran the race again I might well have run second - Luck in running I suppose - Gavin did win the previous race for me which was my only win bet in my mixed yankee

And maybe consolation for those that backed Castle Corner this horse REUNION might just be something special as he beat P Pride by 10 lengths doing it up front so that horse needs to be followed until beaten _ wonder what price Silver Tycoon on Saturday who ran second that day

He maybe gets boxed a lot but I still hate seeing a horse finish full of running
