Snaith Racing:
Race 1
Royal Flush (1) is fair value at 2.5-1 and is worth a flutter to kick off the day. - Win on #1
Race 2
Orange Bowl (9) will love the extra distance and should be right in contention. Sovereign Rose (2) is the main danger.
- Wins on #9 and swinger 2 & 9
Race 3
Kwinta’s Light (
ran a great race on debut and has a good weight against the boys. Stable companion, Danilo Danilovitch (4) impressed first time up and must be factored in.
- Win #8 and swinger 4 & 8.
Race 4
Kasimir (1) is flying back home and will take a lot of beating. Russet Air (2) looks the only danger.
- Wins on # 1.
Race 5
Nexus (2) is the most honest horse who will give Cape Town Met fancy, Golden Ducat (1), something to think about. Sachdev (6) should be included in the pick 6 as he has upset potential.
- Swinger 1 & 2.
Race 6 - Cartier Gr1 Paddock Stakes
Summer Pudding (5) deserves every bit of respect she’s received and will take a lot of beating. Queen Supreme (1) won this race last year and is “Pudding’s” obvious rival in this Gr1 event.
I have some wonderful fillies all trying to earn Gr1 blacktype and I couldn’t be happier with all of them.
Race 7 - Gr1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate
Belgarion (3) goes for 7 wins in a row and the 2020 Vodacom July winner is a worthy favourite.
Do it Again (2) winner of this prestigious race two years ago is capable of taking top honours if he produces his best. He will be looking to get one up on his longtime rival Rainbow Bridge (1).
Race 8
A very open race with both my horses having winning chances and cannot be left out the pick 6.
Race 9
Warrior (2) is a smart sort and will be hard to beat.
- Win #2 and swinger 2 & 10
- Quartet 2/10/F/F and 2/F/10/F and 2/F/F/10
Race 10
I’ve put a lot of thought and effort into this race for Silver Host (4) and feel he will give a great account of himself.
- wins and places # 4
- great race for a quartet. Take Silver Host roving banker with your other selections.
Pick 6 suggestion (add your own fancies):
1,2x1,2,6x1,3,5,8,11,12x1,2,34x1,2,3,4,5,6.7,9x2,10.

Surely a typo in Snaith's P6 - in the 5th leg, he leaves out only one runner, which is his own runner Giacomo Puccini

Race (1)
Real Advisor.
Race (2)
Cape To Rio, surprised to see van Niekerk hop off, but then again, she has had a few attempts at breaking out the maiden ranks – place at best. Sovereign Rose on best form must have a winning chance. Imperial Ballet should finish in the money and could be the value here. Orange Bowl, any money would be some indication that she has improved on the debut effort. Open to the most improvement and the one they all have to beat.
Race (3)
Interesting race, Juvenile Plate, with a few fillies thrown in. Question has to be whether Jack Tarr can concede 5.5kgs to the fillies who are (generally) more precocious at this stage of their careers. Think Kwinta’s Light could be on her bicycle from the get-go and could prove hard to peg back. Her finishing time on debut was 1.28 seconds slower than Kitty Cat Chat , unbeaten after two starts and looks a promising sort in the making.
Race (4)
Kasimir, well in here and probably the best 6 furlong horse around, should win this. Straight line exacta with Russet Air for second, the way to go.
Race (5)
At the weights, Golden Ducat, slung in here and should strip a lot fitter. Hard to oppose.
Race (6)
Summer Pudding, I’ll keep backing her until beaten.
Race (7)
Belgarion, who knows how good this animal is? Nothing appears to faze this chap, maybe making up for the time he was away from racing due to the injury. Racing needs super stars.
Race (
Really difficult race, I think some are better than rated. Watch them go down and make a choice. Go as wide as possible in your P6, JP, etc.
Race (9)
Warrior, if as good as the Wishbone Ash song, race over – seriously, from a decent draw, will go very close.
Race (10)
Cat Daddy but must get away on terms. Retro Effect a runner as well.

Re: Kenilworth 9 Jan - Queen`s Plate Race Day #LQP2021

Another beautiful summers day in Cape Town, but sadly the beaches are still closed. Headwind, but predicted to be much less than yesterday, so hope to see true run races and front runners will be harder to peg back.
The trainer honours were shared 3 all between Snaith and Bass stables yesterday, although Tarry predictably picked up the main race. Take nothing away from the talented Celtic Sea, but would have loved to have seen tougher opposition. Very happy that Elusive Fort sired another stakes winner, and he is clearly the best value for money stallion in SA at present.
Race 1 Not much separating 1,2,3,4,8, but I'll give the vote to Real Advisor as she looks to have the most scope for improvement. After being dissed by some on the forum for losing her first ride on this filly, Miss Watkinson answered her critics in the best possible way by winning on her next ride. Pegasus Rock doesn't have to be that good to win on debut, although Snaith tips Royal Flush. selection 8/4/1/3
race 2 If we ignore Sovereign Rose's last run due to the virus, and she can reproduce her 4 previous runs when 2nd to some decent fillies, she is good enough to win this. Orange Bowl fair debut and will relish the step up in trip and is a clear danger. Bite my Lip very poor last time but two good runs before that. A few others with chances. selection 2/9/3/4
Race 3 The form of Kwinta's Light debut was franked yesterday, and she is the one to beat. Danilo Danilovitch, African Rain and Jack Tarr all decent colts and any could improve enough to win. A first timer would need to be very smart to beat these 4. selection 9/4/2/1
race 4 Kasimir has run two very good races since returning to CT and should win this. The only danger is Russet Air and Fabian should make up a straight line trifecta. selection 1/2/4/5
Race 5 Golden Ducat appeared to need his last run very badly when running 20lb below his best. Assuming he is now much fitter, he should win this. Nexus and Hudoo Magic are the two if he is still below match fitness. selection 1/2/3/6
Race 6 Summer Pudding has her first run in CT, but she has improved with every start and her most recent win was full of merit. She must win this to have any hope in the Met. Queen Supreme returns to defend her crown here and also comes off a very good win in Jhb. I have always thought that Clouds Unfold is a sprinter miler, and I am not convinced that she will see out a hard run 1800m. A false pace would play into her hands. The three fillies that finished 2,3,4 in the Fillies Guineas take on the big girls here, and how close they get will give us a good pointer for future clashes between the 3yos and the older F&M. selection 5/1/10/11
Race 7 At their best there is little between the top 4 over a mile. Belgarion stepped up last time, and won a good race despite not having run since the July. Hence, he is a worthy favourite. Rainbow Bridge was certainly not disgraced in 2nd place, also having his first run since the KZN season. Do It Again runs fresh here. Cirillo is probably the fittest of the 4, and was right in the mix last time, but its hard to see him reversing the places with the two that beat him with them having the benefit of that run. selection 1/3/2/4. It will be interesting to see how close Jet Dark can get, but I will be surprised if he runs a place.
Race 8 A very competitive handicap and will go wide in the exotics. selection 5/1/4/9
Race 9 A tricky maiden as there are some improving sorts and some hard knockers. King of the Moment has had respiratory issues, and if those are sorted he can improve. Dirty Martini has solid form and ran below best last time Brandyncoke, Wolf Man, Warrior and Mhlabeni all have plenty of scope for improvement. I am biased in favour of Mhlabeni, but I liked the way he improved over this trip last time. He will be a decent horse when the penny drops, and he is my selection although he has a couple of lengths to find on Warrior on their last run. selection 3/2/1/4
Race 10 Only one scratching in two full days of racing. This race is wide open and is a field race for the final leg of the second jackpot. Kannemeyer has a strong hand and I prefer Azores this trip over Seventh Gear, and perhaps Grant Behr can add a gr 3 to his Gr1 this season. selection 6/5/1/9

One of the presenters put forward a good thought, where is the better going - down the inside or outside? Guess we will have to wait for race 3 to find that out.
