When last did we see a pick 6 pay that little when our professional jockeys are riding?
Amazing how horse racing can go to form when jockeys are putting in full effort and no one is trying to bush horses.
So it has nothing to do with the fact that all the favorites won - or the fact that all the P6 races had lots of horses running that really had no chance
Of course it's because the favorites won.
These guys brought them home, that's the main thing.
We have seen plenty cards like this before when it looks easy but the results differ to the form book.
Give me work riders meeting any day of the week. They might not be the most skillful but you know they will always try even for the placings.
How far back do we have to go to see such a favoured pick 6 payout?

Every single favourite ran into the top three today, hardly ever happens in our racing.
These work riders deserve huge credit for that.
We always here races aren't run on paper yet today it seems they came very close.
Only a first timer very unfancied by the stable was the upset.

durbs you moan when the outsiders win, now you moan when the favs come home. I suspect that when you win the lotto one day and it pays 20 million you will moan that it did not pay 30 million. Moaning is part of you, dont stop as i enjoy your posts.

Hell no CnC,I'm not moaning.
It gives me confidence in horse racing when the form book means something.
I enjoy these types of days immensely.

I think everyone complaining about this post didn't actually read it properly. It was clearly about the surprise at horses actually running to form, rather than complaining about the low payouts.

The major reason why these race days produce form results is that there are no handicap races on the card. Apart from the complications with unexposed first timers, maiden and other fixed weight races can usually be narrowed down to a few principal contenders.

Sure that could be a factor but the fact is these work rider races ran to form and a lot of credit must go to the work riders.
I have seen many times in a graduation plate a horse weighted 10 or more kg's better than the rest of the field run unplaced.
These guys want to win today not set the horse up for a bigger race or run down field so the MR can go down for future races.
More like this is what is needed in racing, the best horse wins or runs a decent race.
