That's how you pay training fees for a good few months and maybe even what you paid for the horse in one bet.
No doubt the stable knew which one of the two where better and took advantage of the big odds and got the price they wanted by not putting the stable rider on.

Here are the facts. The stable, and the stable jockey were strongly of the view that Zackpack Assassin was the right one based on its good last run and the work it has been showing.
I am involved in both Jean Paul and Vic Falls. Both these babies have been labelled by the trainer and stable jockey as having good potential. Jean Paul as stated in pre race interview expected to need the run- showed good pace and tired last 200m.
Vic Falls has disappointed us at both her prior starts as she has shown good work from the beginning, but has just not brought it to the course. Going into her first race, Sharon said there was little between her and the stable companion in work, but was beaten 8 lengths! Some horses just need a bit of time and experience.
I can't speak for my co-owners, but I did not have a bet today and I doubt if any of them .had more than a few rands sentiment bet

Someone had a few bets.
They backed it from 40-1 into 33-1 into 25-1 into 20-1 and it started at 18-1.
Not sure how much it takes to shorten those prices,maybe R1000 or R500 a time,but looking at the way it won I think they knew a bit more than was let out.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing but surely the stable must not miss out on these sort of betting propositions especially for the owners who could pay months of keep in one bet.

Oh shame none of them won but as we know that money for Duke Of Cards had nothing to do with Greeff cause as we know he doesn't bet.
It was just some arb oke taking the price 7 times even after the trainers comments that it had Broadside to beat.
And poor Nadine done yet again in her bets by her 'stable'.
