Guys, because said 'USA' deal didn't happen this year - no surprise as the lights aren't there and will probably take 6+ months to sort anyhow!
Doesn't mean that a 'future' deal can't be acheived - no? Especially if the lights are up and pulling in other markets, UK, Europe OZ etc?!?
If they put lights up along the straight we can have 5.30 - 7.30 races around the main track - then sprits up the straight - no? + I beleive that come Jan 1st - you could even have 2yr old 700-850m sprints so that the babies can 'learn' the game - even @R50k Stakes, it will be worthwhile imho.
Anyway, I truly believe that things CAN and SHOULD be worked out between us = Full exposure and a common goal WILL get the job done ultimately. Instead of this seemily 'cloak & dagger' stuff, where no one seems to trust the other, and the respect levels are very low all the way round.
Respectfully, Jim.

Jim
With due respect; I think you have things a upside down in terms of the USA 'deal'; if the deal did materialise, the lights would have gone up.
Certainly agree that things SHOULD be worked out; however not sure of the WILL to do it; the nasty suspicion remains that Phumelela is hell bent on turnover and for that they are not dependant on local racing as long as they can keep dishing up the stuff from overseas - and the RA for reasons best known to themselves are unable to influence in a meanungful way

Blue tablets and yellow ones too?
Oscar in my day that was barb and speed - lol!
Probably kill me now - lol!
All jokes aside Frodo, I don't beleive I have it the wrong way round mate = if we build it they will come! How can we get a deal for 'lights' when a) they're not even up b) will take several months and c) do not show the 'will' to put them up.
Quite simply, we have become a self-fulfilling prophecy and are most certainly reaping what has been sowed or not as the case may be.
If we want the USA or any deal for that matter we need to walk the walk not only talk the talk - as we all know 'actions speak louder...' and we ain't acting!
Respectfully, Jim.

The legacy that Phumelela/RA is creating/leaving behind is one of closed racetracks, no night racing and basically abandoning the sport.
Now they blaming Ormonde Ferraris for the abandonment of night racing.
No mention of the bungled tender process though.
RA flights ads to punt the tote while Phumelela punts their betting world sports betting which takes money away from horseracing.
For Phumelela, read George W Bush, and for its lackey the RA, read RA Tony Blair.
And we know what legacy those 2 have left !
