can't be easy racing for such sh!!te STAKES on the Highveld.
once jock & trainer DEDUCTIONS are taken into acc...... at present u need TO WIN 3 races per year...... JUST TO BREAK SQUARE for that year ........ deal or NO deal.

Re: TURFFONTEIN TUESDAY 09 AUGUST 2022
3 years 2 weeks agohow on earth could FAR AWAY WINTER...... ever be ODDS ON at one stage. ?
HE has only WON a maiden race GRADE G on the Gallop scale.
whereas TUSCAN WINTER....... racing in GRADE B. & A on the GALLOP scale..
at least the RIGHT horse landed up favourite........ we know how the Azzman stable can HYPE UP HORSES....... not necessarily correct... Mr. Hawaii of OLD comes to mind...( Potalo Palace as well ) .. I remember specifically going to Gosforth I think it was... to watch Mr. Hawaii.... 2nd run & I think he got beat if memory serves me well.
Confirm please Mr Hawaai & Naresh & Frodo
Mr Hawaii before my time although I heard some stories about it and not much articles on him.
Two horses in my time of Azzie,
Chase The Light - Odds on favorite on debut beaten by its stablemate also making its debut, Harrys Charm who was a multiple Grade 1 winner. Apparently it was Chase The Light chasing pigeons.
Hot Masala - Rumoured to be a champion. Beaten on debut at Clairwood Park. Punters wanted to cause a riot. They were having a go at Jeff Lloyd and Azzie. Lloyd won later on a horse called Lisas Champ and everything seemed to be forgotten.
I was 16 and and we drove the normal 400km that days to be oncourse . Lloyd was on this "hotty" and they were flying out the gates and setting a blistering pace ..... Rhys van wyk on Harrys Charm was the only sitting second on the bit well clear of the field .... Rhys gave HC her head 300m out and dhe cruised in ....lloyd 2nd and 3rd horse maybe 15 lenghs behind. What a horse she was!!
