Why doesn't the Tote cover Irish Racing for Exotics
3 years 1 week ago
General question - We don't ever get local exotics - PA, Bipot, etc for Irish racing when the fields are so good. These can be run concurrently to the UK venues that are racing, and yet, we always turn a blind eye to Irish racing.

......maybe their cut on the exotics is far less than what is done through the open bet offering...and thus not worth doing it at all.....

Your guess is good as mine, why they do not cover Irish racing. Hopefully they can at least cover Dundalk as this takes place normally when South African racing is over.
On another note, the UK swingers commingling got to stop. Its of no value. The pound verse rand is knocking us into oblivion. £20 swingers by a UK punter equates to 400 times in Rands and with pools only reaching 7k at times the dividends drops drastically. Only offer commingling for swingers with UK on World Pool days.

Perseverance finally pays off.
Now for commingling of UK swingers to stop except on World Pool Days.

Hi Bob
SA pools (including Bipot or PA plus Jackpot) are rarely offered on Irish racing because historically they generally fail to attain satisfactory levels of liquidity and pools are simply too small.
Critical mass is also the reason that generally SA pools are never offered on more than two international race meetings simultaneously because to do so would simply dilute what money is available to be bet and liquidity of pools would be further diminished.
TAB customers have shown repeatedly down the years that they much prefer betting on UK races as opposed to other international races (excluding Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore).
So as an example if there are two UK and one Irish race meeting simultaneously, generally the two UK meetings will offer SA pools and the Irish races will be commingled pools only.

The Irish Championship Stakes meeting is a World Pool event, will they cover the meeting?
Looking into the coming months, will Dundalk be covered for exotics during their winter like previous years or will this be no more.
The Pick 3 and Double remains minimum 2 times while others can play 1 time. Still no answer why the Pick 3 dividends is not visible by whole numbers.
The Soccer 4 and Soccer 6 pools on Saturdays and Sundays the early pools games finish by 18h00. Why is these pools are not resulted by 20h00 the same day in order for punters to wager on the late night pools normally starting at 20h30 to 21h00. Now and then it does get resulted.

Morning Bob
To answer the additional questions:
The Irish Championship Stakes meeting is a World Pool event, will they cover the meeting? - Leopardstown meeting will be scheduled + Doncaster St Leger, as will Curragh Sun which is Day 2 Champions Weekend. Both with SA pools.
Looking into the coming months, will Dundalk be covered for exotics during their winter like previous years or will this be more. - Most probably but this depends on the schedule but normally 2 x UK jump plus Dundalk
The Pick 3 and Double remains minimum 2 times while others can play 1 time. Still no answer why the Pick 3 dividends is not visible by whole numbers. - The Pick 3 and Double are R1 unit bets, so the requirement to take the bet a minimum 2 times has to be implemented by all commingling partners daily. If one or more do not implement this minimum, bets can be played once with that partner. Commingling partners are sent reminders re the minimum, but still fail to apply it at times. The solution to this is for the minimum 2 times to be replaced by a 1 time unit, which will take place in the very near future. Commingling/exchange rates make it unlikely dividend divisible by whole number.
- This will be addressed with the host to understand what the reasoning is and how this can be addressed to ensure a more efficient resulting process.

Bob, thanks and to them it is really appreciated.
On the exchange point for the Pick 3 dividends, my understanding is,
All commingling partners have a predetermined exchange rate fixed to how many units/times. This changes when the rand fluctuates. If it is below the rate per unit then the operator from that country is benefitting but when it goes up the operator will set a new rate.
For example, USA,
$1 will get you 5 times which equates to $0.2 per line for them.
In the same respect, the Soccer 13 pool is combined with Sweden with exchange rates applicable. See attached screenshots of different years and the winners are always a whole number.

To the Tab, Australia offers percentage betting, commonly referred to Flexi betting. I have seen on social media, people catching outsider exacta below one time or like 1.4x times, etc. This is where the problem. See attached screenshot confirming you can play percentages even in their exactas.
One of the commingling partners is able to play any amount of times including percentages. So South African punters are getting the short end of the stick. The Pick 3 and Double needs to revert to R1 a minimum as soon as possible.

They were in a conundrum. If racing never go ahead in the UK, they had the Curragh to fall back on. Anyway better fields and Group racing.
