Hello Everyone

This is with reference to record timings clocked and how is it differentiated or segregated and stored. The most important question is, what is the criteria considered?.

I do understand the difference between course record and class record (or feel I have understood it, correction required if I am on the wrong page)

The race card on tabgold.co.za states that the course record is held by a horse called ROAD TO INDY which ran in the year 2016 and shattered everything and has its name etched in the record books and is rightfully the course record holder for the distance and course in question, on the other hand another horse by name EARTHSHAKER ran in the year 2001 and recorded some timings which the knowledgeable deemed it fit to include it in the class record and that's how it stays there. Now which year came first, 2001 or 2016?, looks like the which came first "the chicken or the egg" question, am forced to put in that silly question and any kid on the block will say 2001, request punters/members/readers of this prestigious forum who are in the know to give some acceptable answers if there is (refraining from putting in the timings clocked intentionally and hoping the intention is understood).

By the way the race in question is the second race run at Fairview (Friday 02nd September 2022) over the distance of 1800 metres on turf (hopefully on turf if weather gods don't play traunt).

Warm Regards

Interesting to see commingling with Indian subcontinent?
Or do you have Bookies laying on SA racing.
We have H.... Bets.
There it would probably be....
Bollywood Bets. B)

What about racing from Bangalore Turf Club?
Our local rookies offer silent bets on those meetings.... no visuals and no audio.

Ps. Nobody gives too much thought to the class and course record these days.

Crimson King runs for us in race 2, and he is weighted to win. He should be fit enough. Only danger is Never Ending Rain, so I'm backing Crimson to win and taking the boxed exacta.
