My day hinges heavily on, R3, Gimmelightning. This horse was slow away on debut and had quite a few lengths to find going through the 600, had to switch at the 400, but once the penny dropped, finished with a smart turn of foot. If this horse gets away on terms, no race.

1. Snaith holds a lot of trumps - whether successful or not
2. Striker to win a race
3. De Kock won't win a race
4. De Melo to win 1 race
5. Marshall to have a winner
6. Tarry to have a winner
7. CD to get beaten

Grant Van Niekerk is an above average jockey.

In Race 4 he rides Trompie but will be 3.5kgs overweight and ride out at 53.5kgs.

The question is how much overweight should a jockey be allowed. Trompie being a 3yo, the 50kgs could have really helped his winning chances.

.....tough race as I have an eye on a few of these well bred babies....already got some loot from Rascova 1st time out and she can be in the frame again.....but my long shot place bet is the 1st timer no 11 Bohemian Grove @50/1 as this colt put up an awe inspiring gallop at the Cape RTR sale at the end of October 2022 and was sold for ZAR600K.....it was the best gallop I have ever witnessed for a juvenile and could have stepped out and won a race anytime after that day....he is well related a half brother to recent winner Bella Siccome 4 wins and Beckoning Beauty 5 wins and highly rated by the Goose....this mating to Querari makes him very quick and if he gallops like he did on the sales day, he is going to catch pigeons.....:whistle:
