... .a very clever man this Bortz fella....has since made strategic investments in WP gaming in taking over Grand Casino investments for gaming licenses and is doing exactly what Adam's failed to do....also trumps Savage as he also pulled off a bigger better purple plan for coastal racing.....as I said in another thread I love baseball movies and although my least liked one Field of Dreams.. .had a poiniant catch phrase.... build it and they will come....rings true for the repurposing of Kenilworth racecourse as these type of investments work very well until someone either f@cks it up or someone builds something grander.....Take the Randbufg Waterfront investment of years ago....it was a smashing hit ....now if it had a Casino...it could have still been viable... Gold Reef City...a potential gold mine and was once.....until it was captured by political wrangling and was only then interested in giving concessions to the connected until they were disconnected...

...afraid that the up country venues are farked. Who would want to develop in Little Nigeria next to a smelly dump.... Newmarket could have been a far better option but all wasted water under that bridge.... what Cape racing has is location location location.....that area Kenilworth is in is prime real estate but a short term box would have tried to sell off bits and pieces... but keeping it intact and developing a venue like Monte Casino around the race course would ensure that it is showcased for the uninitiated and the curious and may grow an interest for some that are drawn into the precinct to eventually go racing....and so racing may then survive....

I am told a very small turnout for the racing.
The crowds came for the sideshow, or perhaps racing is now the sideshow.
Bortz does have a cunning plan. Hollywood Park racino. Racing will not survive on its own.
