1 year 2 months ago - 1 year 2 months agoReally Steve! The good thing about data and numbers - is they don’t lie.
Your suggestion that the parties to this press release would all be quoted and approve it for circulation whilst it contained ‘BS’ statistics is ridiculous. If you have the time and the interest, I will happily arrange for a call with Nielsen’s SA Managing Director to take you through the statistics, the source data and data mining methodology. I can assure you it comes from industry accepted and credible source data. The same data is used for audience validation, demographics, segmentation and ROI assessments on advertising spend and reach by the industry.
I would have also thought 2 years ago such audience growth would have been ‘impossible’ - so naturally we are delighted to be achieving these numbers, which has resulted in increased interest, advertising revenue and sponsorship appeal for racing. The channels performance and subsequent upgrade to HD can only be good for racing - I trust you agree with that.
SW18, China.... are you delusional in thinking that "data and numbers - is they don’t lie"!!!!!!
What world did you come from and who did you present this report to at 4Q that they bought this BS...Seriously Bru
Is there anyone at 4Q that raised questions on this masterpiece of a report? Please share!!

I will not comment on the data accuracy presented, however will note the following:
1. It is great progress to have HD pictures coming through. You can really see the clarity difference in HD on SS with big race days from overseas, vs the Non-HD on 240, so this will be a welcome change, and can only lead to more people taking an interest.
2. We need to appreciate the fact that we have SW18 willing to post here, while acknowledging and address our queries. This is more than can be said for the previous lot.
3. The work that SW18 and team has done on fixing the issues the producers had with working with split screens, along with generally being on the ball with showing all races has been good, and the broadcast is now top class (referring to in-studio production of switching between feeds).
4. There is generally a sense of, if issues are identified, a fix will be worked on, rather than take it or leave it, and that can only be good for the game.
