Well done Naresh and to everyone else. Thanks for hosting Magi and scoring Smallpunter and Charl.....Well, as for me, I don't think it can get any worse, so for the Met I will try to avoid the dreaded wooden spoon once again   

Firstly congrats (again) to naresh - did you know the 9th paid out 4 places - to be honest I thought Magi had it in the bag - anyway, commiserations to Magi - and thanks a stack to the scorers - especially Charl who did a sterling job as usual

Thanks Charl and all who took part. It would have been nice to come home to some good news after a torrid day on the greens in blistering heat.... but alas alack.... Well Done Naresh !!

On the greens all day today and more people tonight (silly season seems extended this year) ..... so I will sit down tomorrow morning and sort out banking matters and as soon as  all funds are in Naresh will receive his prize money !!

I was dead and buried with 2 races to go but still managed to get up. It goes to show you can still make a profit for the day by wagering 2 winning bets.

Just a footnote.

Please Be True which ran fourth in the last race which never had the clearest of passages but still managed to run a place somehow and which ultimately made me win the competition.

In the 1990s they had a filly also called Please Be True. It was Natal based and placed in many features but its crowning moment was winning the Grade 1 Germiston November Handicap. It was trained by Johnny Dawson.
