Lets be honest it doesnt matter if you post yr name or remain anonymous..it doesnt matter whether you rich or poor in monetary terms...it doesnt matter whether you clever or not so clever..it doesnt matter if you have been involved in horseracing for 20 years or 1 month..what does matter is that when you post try to be decent about it even if its a highly debateable topic with emotions running high...
Treat others as you wld like to be treated yrself.

Feels like a reunion - All we need now is Chris, Cukoo, Henny Hughes and a few others and we will be at full strength again...
This really is a non topic as there has been very little in the way of attacks and or abuse for a long time on this site. There has been quite a bit though on the dark side of the spoon though....
Te only way that you going to have the ideal situation that some crave is to have a premier membership addition to the site. No one will pay though.
To finish you wont find anything on this site that you wont hear on course, in a tote or in any discussion about racing amoungst fans of the game. ... These folk are all anonomys!

How about this for an idea?
You set aside one threat for everybody that wants to post anonymously. Then, whoever reads it can take it for what its worth.
Keep the rest of the site for those individuals that are not afraid to stand up for themselves or their points of view.
As for the "money talks" theory, I am sure that this does hold some water, but on the flip side of the coin, if somebody is a hobby breeder but has a good mind, I am certain that others in this community would love to hear from them.
The belittling of people and their ideas by anonymous posters demeans this site.

I think anonymity and animosity are very similar sounding.

Barry there are already a small number of posters on the site. Requiring everyone's identity to be revealed will limit the postings even further.
Granted I would rather see fewer posts than some of the rubbish here but there are still some valuable anonymous contributors.
Its not easy to police every post but I would ban any posts/posters that are slanderous or abusive straight away. Being the reasonable man Scotia is I would trust his judgement in that dept.
Unfortunately when you want to give everyone an equal chance of being heard you'll always get the good, bad and the ugly, this doesnt just apply to the internet. I just forget about the posts that add no value. Obviously it's time consuming to read the rubbish but there's plenty crap written in the mainstream media as well.
The way I see it is that gaining the odd bit of insight into the world of racing from people such as yourself, owners, jockeys, trainers, journo's and knowledgeable punters make the site worthwhile so keep on posting!

Sasky writes "Barry there are already a small number of posters on the site."
My point exactly!
Why do you think so many have left?
