Met - who rides what?

Time for a dedicated Met thread for info, tips, gossip etc to remain at top of forum list!

No offence Felix Coetzee is a master but dont think that this is the right horse for him. Would like to have seen Delpeche on B&S. Would not be suprised to see Kapil being scratched if the above news is correct.

As far as I knew, Coetzee was to ride Kapil after beating B&S 2.50 in QP
But rumours have been on again-off again.
If FC goes back to B&S, then perhaps Delpech available for Kapil then with the 2kg pull in the Met. Marcus will be riding in Aus. Had a small bet Kapil early on so talking from my pocket when I say I hope he secures a top jock.

If Delpeche doesnt ride in the Met then I will be really dissapointed. Then not only does the event not have the strogest field in horses but will also be missing one of the strongest jockeys too.

... Then again who would have imagined 2 years ago that Delpeche and Coetzee would be racing in SA

I can confirm that sriker is riding, delpech,byleveld,danielson and fourie had asked for the ride.

As far as I can ascertain, Coetzee is on Kapil. Bill Of Rights will skip the Met in favour of the J & B Reserve Stayers, I believe, but as usual with these big races there's a lot of speculation that doesn't always translate into fact.

Seems as though I got the Delpeche call correct. He is on Buy and Sell. Hard to beat Pocket Power at level weights but anything can happen in racing and Delpeche will get that lazy horse to work in the race. Also good to see Mana in the race.

will the Mana get down to 56.0 without taking tooo much out of him ? You gotta be strong for the day - both mentally & PHYSICALLY.

I see no ride for our friend Karl Neisius, who is still desperately seeking that first Met winner. I imagine that it would be the first time since 19-something that Karl won't be riding in the Met.

Unless he rides Quick Millions, which would mean that he will still be looking for his first Met winner....with no disrespect to anybody, but the only positive contribution that this horse can make is as a pacemaker.
