She can have one more up here on Turf and then its PE (unless she is very competitive)..eventually one has to do whats best for the horse and the owners unless there are guys around who will buy the others out who dont want to see her run in Jhb.

Interesting - I second Jamsters comments, would like to see her over turf before throwing in the towel up here. It would also be good to get the trainers comments and opinion, I still recall the interview after the last race saying we would still have some fun with this one so it seems premature to send her to PE on the basis of 1 poor run on a surface she has never competed on before.

Thats not to say I don't see the logic behind Catsmug and Oscars thoughts but if my vote was the decider I would say "give her another chance" and agree with Cats let's find a race soon.

Why not arrange a BOSBERAAD over in Dubai world cup week end to discuss CC futures seems most practical to me.

Synopsis of an amateur:

Sweating up badly in the canter past and down to the start.

Took up the running coming down to the 600m.

Challenge died as she tired.

Question: Why can't we get this horse to settle; Whitmore said when she won that Lucky did a lot of work on her to get her to settle; so what happened today...

I'm just asking; did something or someone spook her...

I also looked at the form behind her in her Maiden win, and it looked a lot better than most...

So I have two questions:

1. Why was she so unsettled today?

2. Why was she so settled last time?

Hi Clan.If i may be allowed to add my five cents worth, being unbiased, then i would suggest that P.E is a fine venue for your filly BUT, only after you have given her another chance on the grass to show her true potential. She won on grass and must be judged on grass. If she runs within four lengths of the winner then she deserves another run.She is better than her run today and when they go down like she did ,they seldom win.Relax, chill and enjoy your filly.

If there is one thing that owning horses teaches you is that you need to be patient. They are like women.

Relax, it wasn't such a bad run, she expended a lot of energy before the race and then looked like she wasn't enjoying the surface.

Just my opinion of course.

Thanks for the update cats,

Considering that the horse was sweating, something was definetely amiss (maybe missing Lucky). I say dont totally write off cc on the sand as she has had only one run on the sand, could improve, bearing in mind that she did not perform all that well in her first few starts on grass and then "boom" she come out and improves and wins.

Well, what do i know about horse racing, could be totally wrong.

Grass could be the way to go, one or two more times, before we consider other options. Whatever the majority decides, i will go with the flow.
