Calling Magiclips

Firstly, I am conversing with you on this site, as there seems to be some very good and informative postings on this thread wrt the racing surface at Scottsville.

I must apologise to you for my outburst on the "other site" if I have offended you in any way. I was "pissed off" at your original posting and I now realize that you didnot know of the intensity of the weather conditions at the time.

I would like to explain why your comments "pissed me off" and how the intensity of the rains in the last month has affected me personally and the state of my mind when I responded to your posting (ofcourse this is my problem and not yours) but it is necessary that I explain the reason for the outburst.

-- I bought a petrol station for 6.7 bars about 3 months ago. With the persistant rains recently, I have had a major problem that came to the fore on Tuesday night where I have had water seeping into one or more of the undergrounds tanks and this has caused untold damage to clients vehicles etc. I had spent almost the entire Tuesday night in driving rain trying to get to the source of the problem, and dealing with irate customers etc.

I come home in the morning and log onto Freeracer and see your comments. The first thing that goes into my head is " what the fcuk...who the hell is matthew to post such bullshit....he has no idea of what we are going thro in PMB....etc etc. That was my state of mind at the time.

Anyway, the petrol station is now closed for the next 2- 3 months whist the fuel company replaces all tanks etc. and I am now landed with a loss of income of
R460 000 per month (gross including convenience store) and still have to cover the costs of capital and interests repayments for the next 3 months.

Back to Scottsville -- George mentioned something about sand covering in the Dbn racecourses, is this not an option at Scottsville to minimise the kickback.

East - have you discussed whether or not you have a claim against your insurer with your broker? I am not sure what the exact circumstances of your losses may be but it may help to discuss it with them. Maintenance or wear and tear are not covered, but this may not be the case with all your problems and is worth a shot.

Hell, east, I was not in the slightest bit offended! Accuse me of cheating or not having the interests of racing at heart and I will get warm under the collar...but certainly not what you wrote.

Relax, bud, and let's hope that your troubles sort themselves out.

Thank you for your interest.

Yes I have discussed with insurers. The vehicles etc will be covered, but not the loss of income whilst the site is being renovated as the insurers deem that to be routine maintenance.
My other issue would be the fact that I have to start from scratch and increase volumes. I was pumping average 420 000 litres and the convenience store is not a franchise. The premises is in a dense residential area and I am taking heart from that fact.
