However, jockeys should be suspended for 12 months failing to give their mounts 100% chance of winning a race. much like in mauritius.
Most of our top jockeys take PA's, and believe the PA pool belongs to them. same as in Flamingo park where some trainers believe the PA pool belongs to them.
Based on this, and a 12 month suspension, we might only have work riders left for race days.
Case in point today at durbanville.... they let the appy get away...perhaps they told her...go to the front...we wont catch you...
much like at greyville night racing 2 years ago, when an apprentise were to ride winner no 40... on her interview she said...(the jockey riding the odds on fav) said I must go to the front...they will not catch me..
everyone was happy about her 40th winner...but what about the punters that backed the fav?
Another case ....double R250,000 / R7000 taken. the 1st leg of the double won..the 2nd leg, the jockey grabbed the starting stall poll( horse was drawn no 1) as the horses jumped, and got left behind...
Not a word...stipes...jockey club...
so, as my monthly bill on P6, PA, Quartets, Trifectas turn close to a R1,000,000 at Mike O'Conner, I have to play the field in the last 2 legs of every P6, and in the PA, I cannot banker the last 2 legs, alsways having to add horses unneccessary to confuse the jockeys that dont ride to win....
I have caught a few P6's in the Cape, where the horse that won, paid the most on the P6 or 2nd most.
By that I mean, with the fav, the P6 will pay R30K...The 2nd most R445K and the most the P6 will pay ---- 1 Full ticket.
