No typo Sasky - why should the price have a bearing on whether or not you fancy a runner. What does the betting tell you about a runner??? If you like a horse before the betting comes out, the betting shouldn't have a direct affect of your opinion!!!

The price never has bothered me. If as you say, I like a horse and I see something in it or have seen something in a previous run, then I will back the horse.. I am not insinuating that Spencer pulls a horse. At times I feel that he does not ride to instructions. Many a time a horse has won when ridden by another jock say from the front then when Spencer gets on he rides the same horse from the back and the horse does not win.

I hope u guys are very small punters who just like to have a bet as a hobby, if not I'll make it a certainty that your bookies have been on many holidays at your expense.

The price/odds should be one of the biggest factors to go into a betting decision, period.

Think spencer`s own confidence catches him out sometimes, would be hard to pick a Uk based jockey infront of him!

Magic clips and Mark Neisius..did I mention any other name in my original post expect Spencers? Why are you assuming that it is Karl Neisius to whom I am referring?

Magic, Mark whilst my comments were said tongue in cheek there is a perception amongst certain parts of the betting public regarding Karl, whether u guys like it or not.

I'm not saying this perception is indeed correct but it will never go away.

Im sure you can give stats until you're blue in the face but for me there will always be a question over him.

I will still back or banker Karl so it doesn't play such a big factor in my decision making anyway. As I alluded to in my post above I think he is still a top rider.

Racing is a game of opinions, same are based on fact, fiction, bias, stats, gut feeling, logical and indeed illogical reasoning.

Whatever the case Im sure Karl couldnt give a stuff what the public think anyway...

Saksy, it is precisely because this discussion goes around in never ending circles that I say it is boring, not because I am defending Karl or Jamie or anyone else. It is pointless.

Agreed, but hey this is a forum of pointless discussions!

Most of us like to blame the jockey when we pick the wrong horse anyway, it sure beats blaming yourself!

If you must know saksy, as a student i used to work for a bookmaker - and time after time i would see gullible punters like yourself (obviously) punt favourites just because they were exactly that - favourites. Without taking the time out to actually study form and work things out for youselves, punters generally dive straight into the short priced horses.

So Saksy - i can tell you from years of experience that its actually you guys that sponsor the bookmakers holidays!!!

Happy punting!!!
