Eventually spoke to a person 10215 option 2, she says would have to phone back as she cant transfer me, but use option 3.

Dave i have been told they are working on the infrastructure for Durban 2020 Olympics Bid. So please bare with them while they get it right.
They have suggested using the post office to send important letters or Telegrams if you are not able to wait.
But they did say it is more polite to deliver message in Person it shows you care.

welcome to Africa..this thread started MAY 28...
self destruction is well on the way..
and nothing..but nothing will stop it......
cancelled my telkom lines this morning.....
cancelled my telkom adsl this morning......
cancelled my telkom email this morning.....
TELKOM only have about 78,000 adsl users...
maybe they dont want us..
ESKOM..SABC..SPOORNET..SAA..TELKOM..get the picture..
most African countries went the same route..
it's when you replace skill with nepotism...
it's when you replace skill with EE act.....
it's when you replace skill with anger......
skills (20 years of acquired skills over a 20 year period) transfer cannot take place in 20 months
eventually, everything deteriorates to a point of no return, is too far gone to fix..
like the powerstations..we have to build new ones now
back to the TELKOM call centers..
The guys about (100) there (Cape Town? ) are having to service 78,000 angry customers..
They are doing great..
Nice people...........
Pleasant people.......
Have all passed some Boston, Intec, etc call centre course..
They will work any call centre...
BUT SKILL...IT..ITC...TELKOMS...EXCHANGE SERVER...
someone forgot to tell the recruiters..the primary skill required is IT..ITC..TELKOMS..MICROSOFT...
hence they recruited the best educated, qualified CALL CENTRE guys..
That's the problem we have in every National, Provincial and local government department...highly skilled..some even with hon. PHD's...
Now it seems to have spilled over to the parastatals..and the JSE listed companies...
the best joke SARS..
they are going after the 380,000 citizens that have not submitted 2 or more years of tax returns..from a workforce of 700,000..excluding farm workers and related
how did they get this list..
without thinking..ran a query..all id's with outstanding returns..
should have run a query..tax received from company for ID that does have outstanding tax return...result < 30,000
the rest have been retrenched more than 2 years ago..have no car..no house..the bank repossed it..
have they forgotten..the banks repossed these 1000's of cars and houses over the last 2 years..
they are going to fine these guys..
hello..they dont have bank accounts left..the banks freeze the accounts when debit order come back for the 3 rd time..
where are they going to find these guys..SHEPARDS FLOCK...
so eventually the penny dropped..
next year they wont have money to spend..they are broke..SARS cannot get money
not from employees
not from companies
not from transfer duties on houses
not from vat
why..national government
look at last august..
overspend R11Billion for the month..not spend...OVERSPEND...
thats is R1,000,000 per min...8 hours per day...22 days of the month..
OVERSPEND...
we will see next year..

Task 'pop3.telkomsa.net - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The server responded: -ERR login failed'
you think telkom will understand this error message..
ask them to give me the correct username and password to use..its the same that I have been using all along..
we will escalate the fault..been escalating the fault for 7 days...
had the tech's out on site..tuesday..3 of them..even installed a new router..
tested the speed..www.speedtest.net...free..do it yourself...
what?..the CEO must have the fault by now..he knows how to fix my email..????
then to top it up..you get a call from the call centre...following up on SERVICE...are you happy with the service...
easier to pick a winner in a 18 horse field with the fav at 6/1

Classic also got a call from Telkom yesterday, almost died.
Then he started asking me questions about how do I rate the service from 1-10 one being poor 10 being excellent, well he could not have phoned me at a better time and gave him a full blast, by the end he said someone would investigate at a senior level and get back to me when the emails would be back on?
Still waiting the call
bloody joke

Well the French would appear to have an action plan in place?
A man who hanged himself at his Brittany home has become the 25th victim of a 'suicide spiral' at France Telecom.
The former state-run company said the man was an engineer at its research and development centre in Lannion.
The employee, who was married with children, had been on sick leave for a month.
France Telecom's under-fire chief executive Didier Lombard paid a visit to the town after learning that the 48-year-old man had killed himself.
The death came two days after a France Telecom employee in Marseille was saved at the last minute from taking his life.
Unions say a drive to restructure the company in the face of the global recession is behind the deaths.
They have called for protests on October 20 to press for better work conditions.
I decided to do it just at the moment when they told me I was good for nothing.
A French Telecom worker explains why he stabbed himself.
The former-state run company laid off 22,000 workers between 2006 and 2008, while staff say changing working practices and poor management have placed intolerable pressure on workers.
The deaths include a woman who jumped from her office window in the summer, while another man survived stabbing himself in the stomach during a work meeting.
France Telecom employs around 100,000 people in France and insists the number of suicides is in line with the national average.
Mr Lombard has described the suicides as an "infernal spiral" which needed to be stopped.
The company has also blamed "copycat behaviour" for some of the deaths.

This is where I draw the line..
before killing myself..I will start killing them..makes more sense..
then they will be part of the national average..
