Fallon gets Sariska ride in Champion Stakes
KIEREN FALLON has bagged the prestigious ride on Sariska in the Champion Stakes at Newmarket on October 17 and will partner the Michael Bell-trained filly in her work on Wednesday morning.
The dual Oaks winner was not supplemented for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe as the ground was considered too fast and connections immediately targeted her for the Group 1 event at Newmarket with the prospect of easier ground in the offing.
Rain arrived in Newmarket on Tuesday morning and her trainer will be hoping that he sees more in 11-day run up to the race.
Bell said: "Kieren Fallon will ride Sariska in the Champion Stakes. Unfortunately, Jamie Spencer is suspended but you find no finer substitute than Kieren Fallon."

Sea would be star of the show, says Cup supremo
SEA THE STARS would add 10,000 to the crowd and $10 million to betting turnover if he were to end his career in the Breeders' Cup Classic next month, the organisation's chief executive Greg Avioli predicted on Tuesday.
Avioli expressed his view as he prepared toreturn to the US following a week in Paris spent chasing up likely candidates for the two-day meeting at Santa Anita on November 6 and 7.
Avioli said: "If Sea TheStars were to run in the Classic, he would add a tremendous amount of excitement to the day, and I seriously believe there would be an additional 10,000 fans and an extra $10m of wagering handle.
"Americans love a champion, and when his trainer John Oxx refers to Sea The Stars as the Usain Bolt of horseracing, as he did in the Racing Post, our fans can relate to that."
Christopher Tsui told the Racing Post on Monday that it was "50-50"whether Sea The Stars contests the Classic, although trainer John Oxx and jockey Mick Kinane have expressed a few reservations in the wake of his scintillating triumph at Longchamp last weekend.
Kiaran McLaughlin, trainer of the 2006 Classic winner Invasor, hopes to see Sea The Stars - particularly as he doesn't have a runner this year.
He said on Tuesday: "He is a superstar, it appears. It would be nice to have that horse there. As I am not in that race I would like to see him race."
Some Paddy Power punters would also like to see Sea The Stars included in the reckoning for the 2009 RTE Sports Personality of the Year Award, and he is 4-1 second favourite with the firm.
However, on Tuesday a spokesman for the TV channel said that it was extremely unlikely that a two-legged superstar would appear on the shortlist, to be announced next month.

Stars would be a Classic 'monster' - Woolley
THE trainer of shock Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird has said that Sea The Stars would prove to be a "monster" were he to travel to the US to contest the Breeders' Cup Classic on November 7.
A decision is awaited on whether the devastating Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner will run again or be retired to stud, with owner Christopher Tsui stating in an interview with the Racing Post on Monday that it was 50-50 whether his star performer would be seen again on the racecousre.
The decision is said to rest with Sea The Stars' trainer John Oxx and a spokesman for the Tsui family played down a report in a national newspaper on Wednesday that the decision had already been taken to retire the colt.
Sea The Stars is as short as 4-6 favourite withBoylesports and Betfred for the richest race in the US, as the world awaits news of whether the 2,000 Guineas and Derby winner will stake a further claim to greatness on the artificial surface at Santa Anita.
Chip Woolley, who trains 50-1 Kentucky Derby hero and Classic contender Mine That Bird, said: "I've seen a couple of his races. He'd be a monster if he came over."
Breeders' Cup chief executive Greg Avioli has predicted that an appearanceby Sea The Stars at the Breeders' Cup would add 10,000 to the crowd at Santa Anita, and spark an extra $10 million betting revenues.
But leading trainer EoinHarty, who trains Dubai World Cup winner Well Armed and has a Classic outsider in Colonel John, thinks it unlikely Sea The Stars will travel to theUS.
"I think I'd be surprised if he'd run in the Classic," Harty said. "He doesn't need to prove anything. It's hard to run in the Arc and ship over for the Breeders' Cup and perform at your best."
Oxx reiterated on Wednesday that he was in no hurry to announce plans for Sea The Stars, suggesting it would be the end of next week before decisions are finalised.

Lady's Secret prep for Classic hope Zenyatta
USA: Zenyatta, a 6-1 chance with Ladbrokes for next month's Breeders' Cup Classic at Santa Anita, will have her final prep race in the Lady's Secret Stakes at the Californian track on Saturday.
The Street Cry mare won the Grade 1 last year before landing the Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic from the Godolphin pair Cocoa Beach and Music Note, who could be among Zenyatta's 12 rivals on Saturday.
Sweet And Flawless, fourth in the Grade 1 Alabama Stakes in August, is the only representative from the Classic generation.

Connections of Sea The Stars have rubbished reports the brilliant colt won’t run in the Breeders’ Cup Classic because of concerns over insurance costs.
It had been claimed the rising value of the brilliant Arc winner meant he would not head to Santa Anita because no-one would underwrite the risk of travelling the horse to America and back.
However John Clarke, racing manager to the owners, the Tsui family, told sportinglife.com: “John Oxx will decide if Sea The Stars runs in the Breeders’ Cup Classic after seeing how the horse is and how he comes out of the Arc.
“The insurance costs are not a factor.
“I can say with 100 per cent certainty that one person - and one person alone - will decide if Sea The Stars runs at Santa Anita and that is John.”

So the Irish Sports Personality of the year is pending the nod from John?
lol
Its just a shame that the racing public seldom get to "see the stars" as 4 year olds these days, Zarkava last year was another example,
What price an off spring Sea The Stars and Zarkava.

Zenyatta goes for 13 in a row.
Undefeated Zenyatta attempts to equal Personal Ensign’s record by winning her 13th consecutive race when she goes to the post in Oak Tree's $300,000 Lady's Secret Stakes (GI) as favourite on Saturday at Santa Anita.
"That's something we never imagined when she started racing,’’ trainer John Shirreffs said of Zenyatta possibly matching the legendary filly. "And then as she has continued to win, it became something that was maybe possible. And now we're on the brink of it. So it's very exciting.’’
In the 1700m Pro-Ride event she will meet many of the same rivals she has defeated in three earlier victories this year, with one significant addition among the eight entrants - Godolphin's Cocoa Beach, who ran second to Zenyatta in last year's Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic (GI) and is shipping west to get accustomed for a second try at the World Championships.
The Lady's Secret is the last of four of Breeders' Cup Challenge races on the Santa Anita programme, with the earner automatically qualifying for the -2 million Ladies' Classic on 6 November over the same track. Zenyatta, though, might end up taking on males a day later in the $5-million Breeders' Cup Classic (GI), regardless of whether she wins the Lady's Secret.
It will be no cakewalk. Zenyatta very nearly lost her perfect record in her last start, the Clement L. Hirsch (GI) at Del Mar, making her customary late charge barely in time to register a head victory over Anabaa's Creation, an unheralded mare from the Julio Canani barn who returns in the Lady's Secret.
Also in the field from that race is Lethal Heat, who set soft fractions in the Hirsch and nearly got away with stealing it before finishing a close third, and Zenyatta's stablemate Life Is Sweet, who gets back on her favourite surface after running fourth in the Hirsch.
Zenyatta won last year's Lady's Secret by 3.50 lengths as a 7-10 choice leading up to her smashing Breeders' Cup win and subsequent honours as the nation's top older female. This year, though, hasn't gone quite as smoothly, as the stunning five-year-old Street Cry mare's campaign was delayed by bad weather in Kentucky and marked by significant gaps between races. She won the Milady (G2) and Vanity (G1) at Hollywood Park this spring and has been off since capturing the Hirsch. - Bloodhorse.
