Is the Tote being manipulated ?

blinkers on the punters..........as was said in another forum chat...

So is it or isn't it? We have discussed this on the forum and to date we do not have any clear answers to the original question.

I run the risk of going down in a ball of flames, but it appears that that there are a lot of claims of mismanagement at the operators but nothing of any consequence to back it up with. We can sit and critisize any business operation if we like, but have we asked them for answers? I struggle to believe that an operation the size of P would be a mom and pop show. I would like a response to some of the claims made on this thread though.

The question is: Has anybody bothered to ask them the question? If we dont we just look like a bunch of sore losers taking out our frustrations on a corporate body and others out there reading this probably feel that their silence must make our remarks true.

As a matter of interest, with the ABC Thread, we did investigate the races. The thread veers off every now and again so I haven't responded, but we have invited Dave Scott, who has kindly accepted, to spend some time with us and our IT Department next Tuesday, so we can go through the process and security.


Dave, can you please ask them to check if any large place bets were cancelled on the first 3 favourites that Saturday ( first post on this thread) in the 5 minutes before the race. Simple enough, if there were then the tote is indeed being manipulated.

its been a long time that i suspect this. Even when using the tabs betting sheet the computer adds his own horses.

?......bump......so they closed the holes by not allowing big bets to be cancelled......so now manipulators are going for the small pools where cancelling small bets are under the radar......

muhti in many of the oversea races the pool is less than a few thousand so is very easy to manipulate. for me unless the guy manipulate the tote is get open bet payout from bookie he is really make chicken feed. if he is punting on open bet it is not long be fore hes acount is limit so i am no sure where the benefit is

....may be one clever Trevor or may be several.....and the money is small smacks.....but it undermines the creditability of of the tote operator.....if not kept in check....these things start to spiral as greed often does.....get a few mates involved at other bookie branches.....not going to make any one super rich but just enough to keep the wolf from the door....Phumelela and co want to grow pools.....joe punter getting stuffed on payouts will not play anymore and so starts the loss of tote revenue.....
