R Curling!

I once made a statement that young David would make it- Watch Ryan Curling - this young guy is improving ride by ride and I think he will grow into a fair jockey in time(before anyone says the Curling name made him I remember him running around the Vaal from ring to ring trying to get work rides before he was an appy.)

somewhere amongst this new lot, the new "STRIKER" must emerge...

else we would be in trouble...STRIKER is looking at retirement..???

see they have ordered new "A" frame ladders...could that be for the parade ring..jockeys to get on...

there will never be another striker especially amongst this new lot..the quality of the new riders is way below where it used to be

Derek David I think will prove to be one of the top kids from the last year or 2 - baring the Lerena's of course.

the Lerena's moved up from the 400 meter mark..
stayed on for a while......
but seems to have faded at the finish...???
fame and fortune got to the...???

It only Anton marcus left...???
the R50K retainer makes him work..
slave driver for a boss...???

Striker is getting old......???
opinions formed based on computerform collateral form...???
when last did he ride 3,4 or 5 winners in a meeting...???
did that with a smile..10 years ago...???
to old to ride work everyday....???

Khumalo.....................?
like his style...
but seems to be limited to PE...??

and you are right..Derek David is shaping well..
moving up at the 400..meter

and the young Nicola too..
always riding to win..

the younger ones..
shotgun style..
jump and go...
till horse drops dead...

the older ones....
gooffed by the sounds..
dont know they are in a race..
hear and see birdies...

they all have skill, but the heart and zest is gone..
like heavy weight boxers after 40...
skill is on board..but the arms dont move..

hope we find a new group with zest to win...

the "problem " is also lack of support. Owners/trainers should have a jockey and stick to him/her. This would make them become household names cause they would ride the good the bad and the ugly. But too often people abandon the guy that took a horse from running last in his last 5 outings and replce him with a better branded guy. IMVHO some are complete rubbish have not got a remote bit of talent as race riders but some do show promise. I think that people like Fourie could be decent and Byleveld for all his critics is now riding winners in PE this is going to make him more confident and hopefully make him ride more winners elsewhere. Now the issue is going to be when the call comes in for one to get beat does he "deal or no deal"

I think young Mansour might have a chance to make it.

He WILL win the title this year unless he gets injured - he has already got 13+ winners to his name this term - pity that there are no real challenges (perhaps domeyer?)

All these guys that are mentioned..

the risk they run...

fame came before they got real good...
will the sudden fame be their down fall

which ones have real NATURAL TALENT..
BALANCE..
READING THE PACE...
READING THE RACE...

the way STRIKE USED to do it..(Not Now..he reads to much collateral form)

thats what we need to find...
