My major concern about the Summer Cup(and night racing) - If we have a similar day like today the sponsors get 0 value - My suggestion is to start the first race at 10 am and have the main race running at 14h00 sharp - if it rains you try to get a dry track before 17h30 - If you do start too late in the day and it does rain then you may lose the race

That is the perennial problem with Jhb Features. There is always a risk of crap weather. Having a local race at 10 am could have the side effect of boosting interest and therefore turnover in that cart rubbish.

I'm worried that Night Racing (previously mainly on Tuesdays or Thursdays) might suddenly become the weekend racing ideal which in summer months could seriously damage local racing if the idea is formed to race the feature as late as possible(as with the July) to keep punters on track(considering that only sprints can be run at night at this moment). I would think starting earlier is the way to go but if you want to get value from the lights I would think the meeting should end at 9 pm - big worry as weekends are big money spinners - I think I read somewhere that the Charity mile day would only begin at 13hoo or 13h30 - far too late - start early and leave the bad maiden races for the night session -
