Race at southwell the other day 5f sprint, gates opened and the gate sprung back and trapped a runner in his stall..Void Race?
Nope they deemed that the Runner had preemted the start so his gate opened a fraction early then sprung back?

Been a while since an appie rode a winner on his first ride. Good luck to Anthony Andrews. BTW I think Clyde Basel's late brother Keith also achieved it.

70% of favs don't win anyway so I don't read anything into it, Tommy.

I'm not reading anything into it Magic, I'm expressing a maddening thought that it is affecting my pocket!!!
Everytime I go short in a race and the fav gets scratched, I go out!!!!
I wish there was some other ruling that could be made but I guess until starters start doing their job properly and make sure horses get loaded correctly us punters will just have to suck hind tit!!!!

There is really no viable altermative to the existing tote fav rule. It is just something that comes with the territory, and not al late scratchings are due to a stalls problem. But I do understand the frustration.

I guess thats all it is really....Frustration regarding another exotic loss that is completely out of my control.
I don't mind doing my money down my own stupidity but it is hard when it has nothing to do with me!!
I like Stornaway in the last....Get out stakes.
