we all seem to miss the original point made right in the first post...
she seems like a really nice girl but TV presenter she aint.
maybe the guy is right...
while we all think she is pretty and is better than Andrew (Bon)...
the question posed is not answered...
Firstly
if the job had to be advertised and people interviewed...would Jessica get the job if she was related to me, rather than related to Mrs Oppenheimer/Mary Slack
This is a valid point....and the answers is a sure "NO"
and secondly..
the writer suggest that Jessica does not cope well, due to :
falling over her own words..and knowledge...
for that, we can take note of his opinions, allow him, his own opinions, while we treasure our own opinions..

Party Line..
If only all the children of prominent owners got involved in the game.
lol..
some of these kids do have integrity..brains too...will not tarnish their reputation by being seen in an industry riddled by angles such as us...
I, for one will break my sons legs, if he ever puts his foot on a racetrack, be it as a punter, bookmaker, owner or even guest..
its too late for me..

Everything is corrupt to you and going to the dogs, you dribble all over this forum about absolute junk.
Are you you the same person who said the main reason you sent your daughters to varsity was to meet a rich man..........
Not everyone involved in racing is in it for a quick buck, some people actually love the horses and the competitive spirit associated with racing.

I have my doubts about there being people that 'love horses' in the racing game.
The poor animals have a miserable existence; 23 hours a day in a 3x3 jail cell only let out for work and racing. They get abdominal drenchings, they get their balls cut off, they get needled and injected with all sorts of crap to make them go faster with less headaches. They get fed a sticky mess of concentrate called performance feed, very little of which is actually suited to their digestive system.. just ask around how many racehorses have stomach ulcers!
Racing is about addiction and ego, as far as I can tell, love has never entered the picture.

There are people who are involved in racing for the right and the wrong reasons, people like Jessica should be encouraged.
They don't need faceless people running them down. Would people rather have her buy a wine farm.
It's hypocritical to earn a living from the game or at least some enjoyment from it and slate it at the same time.
Within reason, we should try focus on the positives.
Maybe I'm naive but I've got nothing but hours of enjoyment from racing, probably cause I never needed or tried to make money out of it.

Would people rather have her buy a wine farm.
Do they still have money left...to buy a farm...
read somewhere that the guys were serious in nationalising the bank accounts, farms, trusts, mines etc..

Never a truer word said - I've never ever said I loved horses - (I love animals sure enough - my house is a mini zoo) But owning a horse is different. I battle to go to the yard as I bond very easily with them and I realise they are like death row prisoners that are well fed. To be honest I have my last crop racing now then i'll punt only(same thing less responsibility) - you have to be harsh in this game and as I don't own a farm I really wonder what will happen to them after I retire/sell them?

I have recently got into racing. After watching Inside Racing since its inception, last night’s episode was the first that I enjoyed from beginning to end. Jessica is absolutely fabulous and is completely entertaining. I am no expert on the sport and found Jessica terrific at speaking to everyone and not only the racing experts. Robin Bruss is as dull as ditch water, and found the show so much better without him.
As for the comments about Jessica only getting the job because of who she is, what nonsense! She is completely competent and leaves every other presenter in the dust! I salute Jessica for her passion for the sport and hope that she continues as an ambassador for the horse racing industry!
