I have just received an SMS from Louis Goosen. Vaal sand ok for racing even after 10 mils of rain overnight and getting its final prep. Everything good if rain holds off today.

Captain's Secret begins ambitious double bid
Preview: South Africa, Saturday
Kenilworth: Betting World Cape Flying Championship (Grade 1) 5f, turf, 2.40pm GMT
CAPTAIN'S SECRET attempts the first leg of an unusual double in the Cape Flying Championship over 5f at Kenilworth on Saturday.
In seven days time he runs in the CapeDerby over twice as far. He would have gone close in last month's Cape Guineas but for a bad draw and trainer Mike Bass thinks a lot of him.
The trainer said: "He's a very good sprinter, he is doing well and he must again run a big race."
This is the first Grade 1 sprint of the South African season and has been the target for Villandry for the past six months.
Trained by Vaughan Marshall, Villandry was the top sprinting two-year-old last term and has set a blistering pace in each of his three starts this season, only to weaken in the final furlong.
Marshall said: "He went too fast last time but now we are going to hold him up and we think that's the way to ride him."
The Charles Laird-Anton Marcus combination has won three of the last five runnings and their Warm White Night is the ante-post favourite.
He has proved expensive in two outings this term - he started at 1-5 when only third on his return at Turffontein - but last season's best form gives him strong claims.
Hear The Drums has won 30 races - he is only two short of the South African record - but they have all been in much lesser company.
Gerrit Schlechter's mount was fifth in this in 2008 and fourth 12 months ago when he lost a front shoe at the start.
Trainer Des McLachlan decided to keephim at home in Port Elizabeth longer this time and did not travel him until Thursday evening. He believes that this could make a difference.
