I have mentioned this before and perhaps I'm waaayyyy off the mark here, but it seems to me that EVERY race meeting is now punctuated y at least 2 or 3 "incidents" that should b prevented, normally at the start.
The most common one these days is horses pulling shoes off......or horses being injured in the pens, or horses bolting.
It just seems to me that these things happen so much more frequently.
I know horses are animals and unpredictable, but surely these things have all been experienced before and should be sorted out??
Perhaps I'm being too harsh on the starting stall team, farriers, jocks, whomever should be blamed for this but surely, if we DO want to offer the internationals a "product" then it should not be quite such a shoddily run operation??
timing is everything. Flights run on scheduled times, so do trains, so do most everything in the world......can't we get to where we jump a race on time for a change?

Another bolter in race 8, these starting stalls teams are beyond pathetic!
A thankless job I know I'd love to know how many delays and issues there are at the start compared to other countries. SA racing must be top of the boards in that respect...

That's unfair to Case Stated. She had a terrible draw and on soft ground last time,a run best ignored imo. That is a filly that has shown both resolution in a fight and good ability too.She will be back.Lord London was always overrated in my book.

Fair comment JAP, but I have seen many KZN trained horses over the years being touted as special only to disappoint. Hope I'm wrong...
But their graded race records in recent years speak for themselves.
